We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
I don't disagree but the fact is he isn't doing that and WE have to deal with it! I can name quite a few others who I feel should be running as dimocrats and aren't. The ONLY place we have to deal with them is in the voting box at in the primary.
As a Republican he sucks.
And , as I have already said, he is not the only one I would so describe!
And THAT is the essence of the matter. It is clear that we operate from completely different frames of reference. Thus, constructive dialog is next to impossible.
I commend and thank for keeping the attempted discussion calm and civil, and wish you well.
Time and events will determine which view of reality proves more correct...
Okay I’ll figure the 1 hour to karate to be lots of work done:)
cucumbers?
Some people have a real problem with social conservatives, the Christian right, or whatever the prejorative is these days.
I think conservatism is alive and well in America, but it's stone cold dead in the media and in nationa politics. I don't know for sure why, but I suspect is because we compromised once too often.
Are you nuts, dude?
Cold, sliced, and placed on the eyes. Please don’t tell us what you were thinking.
one hour?! you going across town or to the next city? lol! lucky for me the jr high is 10 minutes away! I have big blue and i dont manuever it well LOL!!
There is always tommorrow!! procrastinators unite!!
LOL! thanks, i didnt want to have to ask!!
For puffy eyes!
“For puffy eyes!”
Even I knew that!
:0)
Torie, you're back! Good, FR needs a bit of moderation these days. If the tenor here is any indication 2008 will be a good year for Democrats. But I have hopes that we will all coalesce amigo. ;-}
If pragmatism is defined as the concern for practicality over theory or principle, then you're only half right. There's nothing practical about a liberal calling himself Republican.
Short story. At our annual family reunion two years ago, this old man(he had to be related somewhere along the line because it was a family reunion afterall)who had to be 90 if he was a day, walked up to me and said, "You're Clayton's little girl aren't you"?
I respectfully said, 'yes sir I am'. Now, I'm over 50 and he saw me as a little girl. Boring, I know, but using the word girl, reminded of him, he died less than three months after the reunion.
I was thinking that maybe they had a dill pickle recipe to share. What were you thinking?
Agreed...
I can attest to Fierce Allegiance’s fighting against Rudy (albeit as a lurker). The guy was (IMHO, clearly) pinned against the wall.
Just my .02 as a fellow denizen...
you got puffy eyes too? lol!
Cucumber salad, of course!
Town is 10 minutes away, karate takes about 1 hour. Then I won’t feel so guilty for doing so little. I’ll take my cell and makes calls.
Yeah, its true. I watched a couple FReeprers late at night plotting to set him up.
Sad.
