We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
I'm kinda tired of watching folks acting as if he never said it, and like he has changed his position, which he hasn't.
I believe NGRY has been banned twice while posting on the same thread. Anyone want to guess what the other screenname was?
It totally ticked me off when Rudy’s campaign and his supporters here tried to pass of the statement from the firefighter’s union as being partisan. Yes, the union as a whole is liberal, but the NYC chapter who submitted the reports on which that statement was based endorsed George Bush at the 2004 convention.
No, I don't. I'm interested in hearing more about what he has to say on the issue. Given his good, conservative history as a Republican Senator, I don't believe that his mistaken support of CFR is a disqualifier. While I'm not thrilled with President Bush right now, given the alternatives (Rudy McRomney) if he was running I'd vote for him again and he SIGNED CFR into law. This really is a case of getting 80% to 90% of what I want in a candidate. I'm not going to disqualify him just because I can't get that last 10% from him.
Also, Mr. Thompson’s comments don’t even begin to address whether he has repented of his support for the egregious anti-First Amendment electioneering provisions of the “Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act.” There is no evidence that I am aware of that would show that he has done so.
You're certainly entitled to your opinion.

OK, time for me to say g’nite. Milestone day in freeper lore.
Great post.
I haven’t been around much lately and missed some good stuff. I know she’s gone, but I have to post about this.
“This is still America and we are still free to THINK and to vote for the candidate of our choice without being called Liberals, Socialists, Abortionist Pigs, Asswipes, and other demeaning names.”
She hasn’t a clue about America. If you support a leftist, then you will be branded a leftist. It’s freedom of expression, not freedom from everyone else’s expression.
Then there’s the oft misused “don’t judge” line.
At least we are getting these people who have been using the word “conservative” as if it’s dirty into the open.
Someone needs to ask Thompson if he will support this:

Center Backs First Amendment Restoration Act
Urges Congress to Strike Limits on Free Speech ALEXANDRIA, VA The Center for Individual Freedom today announced its support for H.R.3801, the First Amendment Restoration Act of 2004. The bill, introduced by Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD), would repeal provisions of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002 (BCRA) which silence interest groups in the days leading up to elections.
"This bill begins to repair the damage that BCRA did to our First Amendment rights," said Marshall Manson, the Centers Vice President of Public Affairs. "Our founders specifically sought to protect political speech and the right to criticize government. BCRA undermines the First Amendment as it silences organizations like ours at times when such speech is most important. The Center supports this bill, and any other attempts to undo BCRAs damage."
BCRA forces labor unions, corporations, non-profit groups, and others to pay for "electioneering communications" through Political Action Committees with contributions subject to federal limits. Electioneering communications include any broadcast, cable, or satellite communication that refers to a clearly identified federal candidate within thirty days of a primary or sixty days of a general election.
"Government should not be in the business of regulating, in any way, what citizens say about government. And in the case of BCRA, weve gone beyond regulation to brazen prevention of speech. Its a direct attack on citizens individual liberty," said Manson. "Since the Courts wont act to protect our rights, its time for Congress to do so."

The Center for Individual Freedom is a nonpartisan constitutional advocacy group dedicated to protecting and defending individual freedoms and rights in the legal, legislative and educational arenas. The Center has been a consistent opponent of BCRA and was a plaintiff in McConnell v. FEC.
It's an objective one, based on his own words. Words mean stuff.
Rots of Love.
If candidates are not held to account now on these critical issues, the price that will have to be paid later will be very large.
My guess Angry.
No rocket science here.
Rudy is a P O S !
Nothing new for POS Rudy : )
