Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Rudy may not be "winning" the FR wingnut caucus, but that really doesn't matter much in the larger contest, does it?

According to the most recent Free Republic sidebar poll, over 90% of FReepers oppose Giuiani. Are those 90% the "FR wingnut caucus" that you are referring to? Does the "FR wingnut caucus" include Jim Robinson, in your opinion? Just want to be sure.

Wow, that is quite a list posted Zeroisanumber. PRND21, Peach and Luis Gonzalez? Banned? I’d be lying if I said I’d miss any one of those three even in the least bit.

Do you agree with Fierce Allegiance and Fair Opinion being banned?

Generally speaking, if someone’s opinion is censored it says more about the one doing the censoring than the person being censored.

If I am correct, and Conservatism and limited Government is the right path for our nation, than we should be able to win people over by virtue of our lucid logical argument. Banning people with differing opinions is just weak.*

*Jim, I will vote for whoever you tell me to. Please don’t ban me. I love it here.

Anyone who voted for it (Thompson did) was a driving force.

Hmph. Thompson was far more than just another Senator "voting for" the bill. He was the one twisting the arms. Hard.

That’s the point. Ron Paul is anti-WOT, anti-Israel, wants the legalization of marijuana, pro-free trade, against school vouchers and anti-death penalty.

You pick out the worst thing Thompson did(he has since repudiated it, and for honest reasons)

I’ll take strawberry : )

I'm using it in the "Rushian" sense.

Funny thing is, we here at FR are not all supporting the same candidate.

It is more important that we unite to stop Rudy the liberal than fighting about which Republican candidate is best.

Mia T and Luis Gonzales got kicked out?! We’ve got a problem around here, and it ain’t JimRob. I smell sleeper trolls trying to stir up trouble...

I don't think that there are sleeper trolls trying to stir up trouble. Just a new more strict policy.

Anyway, we do have trouble. If we are to win with a candidate say like Fred Thompson, we're going to need voters like Luis and Mia on our side.

Kicking them to the curb after many years of conservative anti-Clinton posting(that would be Mia) won't do us any good.

I can't think of a Freeper friend more loyal to the cause than MiaT.

She was Freeping for Rudy now...but I think she would have easily switched over at some point when it becomes obvious to most that Fred is the one to beat Hillary.

Compared to Mr. Robinson's orginal post, socialism can be prescribed to Ron Paul as well.

Give me a break. Ron Paul has been the most Constitutionally-grounded politician since the Founders themselves.

Paul is a right-leaning Libertarian. JimRob opposes the left-leaning ones.

You want me to speak out with vitriol. You are actively trying to get me to curse you out so you can get me banned. Too bad. Go to sleep. I’ve been playing this game a lot longer than you have.

BTW: I never scream at anybody online. In fact, I don’t talk.
