We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
You’re welcome.
I’m trying to get folks to back off from attacks on solid conservative folks like you. Perhaps you didn’t notice.
The original “thug” post was beneath you, too.
very scary times we live in... I am glad I have faith in God.
Thank ya! That kind of nonsense gets me real riled up. We put up with it from the thugs on the California threads for 5 years using the same darn arguments. Schwarzenegger is turning California into global socialist hell faster than any democrat could have dreamed of, all the time calling it “bipartisanship” as he dances with the Democrats. That same phenomena at a national level will accelerate destruction of my much beloved USA and I’ll do what I can to make sure they fail.
Although that comment wasn't directed at me, I sure am glad to hear you say that. Thank you.
Now, off topic a bit....I was scrubbin' the bathroom when I thought I heard Fox News advertise that Fred Thompson was going to be on Hannity & Colmes. Has anyone else heard that?
I do not condone name calling. I also don't condone broad brush statements like yours, calling other posters opinions "drivel" because you don't agree with them. It is insulting.
Hadn’t heard that, no.
LOL
Yep they did the same to ya’ll in Kalifornia that they want to do to us on the National Level.
Not with my help they won’t.
But, is it accurate?
It's only a rhetorical trick question when the reporter asks,
"EV when did you stop beating your wife?" IF you never beat your wife.
For one thing, while I have no illusions that Rudy is the mix between Churchill and Patton that some seem to think, I do think he would be better to conduct the war on terrorism than any of his potential Democrat rivals.
Then there's the little matter of judges. The direction of the Supreme Court for the next generation is up for grabs in the next few years. The next President may well have as many as three appointments to the Court.
I don't for a moment believe Rudy's posturing about "strict constructionists." But there is a least a reasonable chance that, given his public commitment, Rudy will pick a moderate conservative or two. With Hillary's three picks we get the president, vice-president, and secretary-treasurer of the ACLU.
Whether those differences would be enough to induce me to cast a general election vote for Rudy is an open question.
I think it would depend on:
(1) Whether there was a third party movement that offered some realistic hope, not necessarily of winning the current election, but of building toward a political realignment that might benefit conservative values.
(2) Whether I could satisfy my conscience before God about voting for a pro-abortion candidate.
Howdy CM.
I usually have Fox News on all day so I’ll keep on listening. I did a quick check at their website but couldn’t see where they announce who will be on today.
And exactly who are you to make such a guarantee?
Look, in case you haven't been watching, there's only one man's opinion on this forum that means anything and it ain't you and it ain't me.
There are various level of players and for my own part, I'm just a small, totally insignificant fish in a huge ocean. I've given you my opinion, take it for what it's worth.
I have nothing against Thompson but Hunter's my choice. Go Hunter.
If he's getting in I hope he does it before the debate on the Thursday. That would be something to watch. I can see my candidate go head to head with the others.
there is a thought out response .. they are a rarity as of late
BUMP!!!
I can't believe their arrogance and stubbornness and their complete abandonment of the Republican platform and capitulation to the left. It's time to quit looking at polls and start talking about issues. The people need to know that their leaders are taking them down the path to even bigger and dangerous government.
