Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

A vote for Rudy Giuliani, is a vote for liberalism. Plain and simple.

My cousin has served 2 terms in Iraq. On his way to # 3. I am making those Heroes, priority # 1 when my vote is to be taken. I vote Thompson. If Giuliani is the one, I vote Giuliani. Not all of the post through this debate has made me feel any different. I won’t ever abandon the Troops on one or two issues. Even if I feel strongly on them. They are our Heroes. You know, Land Of The Free Because of the Brave. If a liberal takes office on a principal or two, our Heroes will be alienated and put in danger by those who do not vote appropriately. They are now by republicans who stayed home making a point mid term elections. No?

See my post 13,642. I bet Reagan, who was a heroic man would understand this particular point.

“Because I don’t agree with the tactics of the purge does not equate to my not being a conservative.”

You keep referring to some kind of a “purge” that seems to have taken place here. Sorry, I missed that. I have read almost every post here in the last few days and have not seen any mention of a purge happening here. Is it possible that you are simply being dishonest about this? I think you are.

I noticed you joined the WA forum yesterday. Were you “special” enough to get into their “secret back room”? Are they encouraging you to come over here and use that word, purge, over again and again to try to stir things up? If you feel so strongly about this so called “purge”, why don’t you go on back over there and cry on each other’s shoulders while pretending to be victims in all this?

NOBODY here is suggesting that anyone abandon the troops. However, some are suggesting we abandon conservatism.

Can you cite a single qualification that Rudy has to be Commander in Chief?

I have registered there as well and I used the same screenname I use here too. We’re all grownups here (well, most are anyhow) and I certainly have nothing to hide. I am sorry to see what’s been going on here too but I have made many wonderful friends and it’s just not in my nature to allow political discussions ruin my relationships with others. And so, I will visit my cyberspace neighbors here, there and everywhere I can. :)

I signed up today over there. No email though confirming. I don’t mind debating. I think their site and the thread I perused is similar to here and CU in context. I do want to counter a bit if they let me. We shall see.

"You either accept the change, or move along.

Then perhaps I should just move along and consider myself a "casualty of war." After all, I don't want to disturb you with my "whining" anymore.

I wouldn't want to get in the way of your continued violations of Ronald Reagan's Eleventh Commandment: "Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican."

If it’s a choice between Rudy and any of the current crop of Dems in the general election, I know that the Dems cannot continue the fight against Islamofascism. I believe Rudy can based upon his continued support for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and his multiple comments regarding Iran, Syria, Hamas, Hezbollah, etc.

Is he the BEST choice? IMHO, no.

Of course, this is all hypothetical at this stage anyways. ;-)

Are you referring to the same Ronald Reagan who was the only Republican in modern history to challenge an incumbent Republican president for the GOP nomination and campaign on the platform that the president was too liberal?

I have years of reading articles etc. to come to my conclusions. This comes from reading and learning. Not a feeling. I lived through 9/11. I’ve had losses. Not through the tv in my living room. I’ve done my research. I highly doubt that 80 percent here who make conclusions, and that’s being generous, have a clue of Giuliani’s true biography. They discount him on what some Freepers can write. I’m not debating. I’m going by fact. Like I had said, Fred Thompson would be my man. If he’s serious about running. Giuliani the second. Would you prefer McCain? I wouldn’t. Now, if I specifically insult any other candidate, I take the chance of being banned. So I won’t do that, because I have an outlet here to support the troops, like family, in Iraq. I’m grateful for this. So I’ll leave it at that.

No doubt, but I’m already acutely aware of diminishing returns compared to time invested on such as that.
