Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

“Politically, what its saying is that the state can mandate who is a person worthy of life.”

Yes. I got into a big argument with someone the other day about it, and he finally got frustrated because I was intractable.

When I argue abortion, I take the word “baby” out of it, and use the word “life.” Once the pro-death crowd admits that whatever is growing inside of the woman is LIFE, I ask them to define when it’s okay in their view to destroy that life. That pins them down a little, because most of them don’t want to come out in favor of killing the unborn one 5 minutes before he or she is due to pop out into the world. However, to me, that 5-minutes-away from birth life is JUST as much a life (the SAME life, in fact) as the one that began 9 months earlier when the first two cells began to split and grow. If they don’t agree... ask them when THEY think it becomes a “life” - three months? Four? Six? -— and why. If you get them to admit it’s been a life all along, then ask them how taking life CANNOT be considered murder.

Anyway, sorry for jumping in in the middle of a discussion.

“DC is where ex-FReeper members of Densa Society meet to feel the bumps and knobs on each other’s heads.
WA is just one long, stultifyingly boring, Rudy rally.

The only commentary that enlivens either site are the FR-oriented threads. Both groups are obsessed with FR only slightly less than they are obsessed with atheism/materialism (DC) and Giuliani/social liberalism (WA)”

Worth repeating.

If that's what you mean, no. I'm not stunned by rude posts or flame wars.

I mean you're saying "That could be." regarding "I saw some of them get banned while politely, if forcefully arguing their points in the face of unbelievably rude and sarcastic comments from their opponents, who were not banned." as if it's some new thing or something.

I'll grant you that "the glee and vindictiveness which greets the purging of people whom I don't always agree with, or do," is a bit unseemly, but, that isn't anything new either, which you know since as you pointed out "Flaming has been a part of Freerepublic as long as I've been here, and has been employed by all sides, including the "social conservatives."".

What goes around comes around.

“Then why do they keep their anti-FReeper thread private? FReepers who I trust completely have seen the caches of it and assure me that it is as bad as any of us say.

Regardless, Howlin made a post on FR saying that conservatives have their “foot on the throat of Republicans.” Is THAT acceptable to you?”

Worth repeating.

Yep...that's me!

I see the human and the economic realities of immigration. I see the benefits of not having another CUBA in Mexico.

Showing the Mexican people how a change of scenery can uplift your miserable life and potential helps ensure that won't happen.

The worst thing we could do is not admit that the 25 million illegals aren't going back...and STILL hand them over to the Democrats. That's the definition of insanity.

All this gnashing of teeth by the usual suspects in here...most read like uneducated rednecks...like those that 40 years ago called them "DPs" (displaced persons...aka dirty polocks)

Those DPs' children and grandchildren are no different than you and me today. Get over yourselves.

What really bothers me is she used the term "foot on the throat"...It is almost as bad as what Imus said and is completely unacceptable... Im sorry you have had to endure it
