Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

You have no idea who gives what to whom here. And you never will. Which makes your attack nothing but sour grapes.

You’re still dealing with serious anger issues, aren’t you.

I hope Fred does get in, but every day he waits makes his challenge a bit harder.

I see the Rudy suppporters who have been banned from here less as liberals than those who are willing to compromise or hope for the best. They want to hold the Presidency for the GOP. Granted, we did have some liberals or moderates here (although the term is used fairly interchangeably at this forum) who truly backed Rudy for his positions.

My guess, and it’s only that, is that winning was more important than anything, especially after the spanking we took in 2006. In politics, being right on the issues doesn’t matter if you lose the election.

Anyway, EV smells an odor about me, and for 11,000 posts so far, not rejoicing in the bloodshed somehow paints a bullseye on your back, so I’m out of here. Lunch hour is about over anyhow.

Great. Thank you. I'm sure Jim appreciates it. I know that I appreciate it when fellow conservatives put their money where there mouth is.

Now, do you have evidence this isn't a hypocritcal comment?

Do you want FR's budget to be hit by the departure of these traitors?

If not. Butt out.

” Don’t tell me I’m not a “real” conservative.”
“I’m old enough to have voted for Reagan for President twice and I did.”

I’m old enough to remember that time from almost a quarter century ago.

Those were heady days and Reagan won many new converts, many of those converts have drifted away over the decades.

I disagree there. Right now, Fred can make regular posts on ABC.com, fill in for Paul Harvey, and have the media report his every movement. And it doesn't cost him a dime of campaign funds.

And he's steadily climbing in the polls as well without entering.

Meanwhile, Rudy is twisting himself into knots over the abortion issue. If your opponent is imploding, don't change the subject.

“I agree. Some here have gotten a good injection of power and obviously are reveling in that new-found/granted power. It’s all the more satisfying when the Chief gives the green light.
It is now a drug to them, which will be tough to give up.”

LOL. Nobody has power on here but the owner and moderators. Your interpretation fails miserably.

LOL!

Strike TWO! Straight to the ad hominem!

You don't know what to do do you?

Have a nice day EV. I have to go work at my job now, so I can support this website and the conservative cause with what is known in the real world as money - not just forum posts.

I believe FReepers donating on this thread makes that a moot point now, don't you think? Many FReepers are trying to cover the financial loss of some banned FReepers.

If a person donates anonymously, another cannot vouch for their anonymous donation, they would no longer be anonymous. See what I'm getting at?

I'm not sure which of your two primary attributes is the more annoying: the viciousness or the unctuousness.

I was not planning on responding to this particular post, but it does contain a major error of fact. While I disagree with much of the post, I will respond in specific to that error, and that alone.

From your postings, it is fairly obvious that you came here at the request of another Darwin Central member who was banned last night for pathetic FReepmails and he had recently been suspended for openly telling this same FReeper to go "F*&# Himself" and before you call me a liar, I was there to witness it and hit the abuse button at the time.

The bolded section above is the error I wish to correct. I responded to T'wit's post entirely on my own. I was unprompted by anyone.

A lot of folks here are quite hot under the collar just now, so I feel I must point out that I'm not claiming this mistake is a lie. Call it a mistake. But it is not true, no matter how "obvious" it may seem.

Exactly.

But it's important to look at the verse before it, that precedes the "and":

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

That's how that peace finds a home...

Thanks.

TS post 11,055 Written like a true brownshirt.

And what shall be said about ad hominem's here? You know what they say about pointing fingers; you have four pointing back at yourself.

And you know what? Nobody cares about how much you give and it's really nobody else's business.

It has been my good fortune to know a few genuinely Godly people over the years. None of them have used their religion as a weapon to try to establish moral superiority over people with whom they were arguing. Sprinkling your rants with sanctimonious phrases and the occasional Bible verse offers little camouflage when you’ve spent the past several days expressing vindictive delight at the misfortunes of others.

Your response is insulting to my intelligence at best.

This thread has been going all week, yet you didn't post on it until it had well over 10,000 posts. And your first post happens to be in defense of another Darwin Central member who was banned for his repeated harrassment of T'wit.

But, to give you the benefit of the doubt, why did you stumble onto this thread? And did you read through the 10,000+ other posts before you found the first one you wanted to respond to?
