Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I hate notepad! I never use it.
Either MSWord, or Excel.
That’s much easier to me.

"Remember that Perot guy?"

Vividly. Split the vote, resulting in Clinton.

Just. Like. Rudy.

Yes. But cleaning them saves you having to order and wait for the mailman or paying $5 in gas to go get your $4 keyboard.

Okay, since you're caught up and I just got here, can I have a synopsis? Has there really been a massive "purge"? Who's gone? Why? Anyone I liked?

I’m so far behind that this is probably old news, but you can add BeHoldAPaleHorse to the zot list.

"It must come as a shock to Al Qaeda leaders to have an aide come into their safe house and tell them that Senator Reid has declared that, in fact, they are winning and the war is lost," Hunter said. "I think it's highly irresponsible for the leader of the U.S. Senate to have said that and, just speaking for myself as the ranking Republican on the Armed Services Committee, I think that the leader of the Senate should step down from that position."

I'm sending him a contribution (later, after I've paid for my new stove) just for that statement!

I will agree that the tone on this thread has been “hard core” recently, at best. But I don’t think this started with the conservative wing of this conservative site. For months now, literally, many of these Giuliani supporters have embraced this “we are the Borg” attitude, convinced that without Rudy, the Hildabeast was assured her coronation in Jan 2009. No amount of reasoning, no amount of factual information, would convince them otherwise.

I’ve seen this monster take over posters who I, at least, thought were staunchly pro-life and solidly conservative.

But, apparently, their moral and philosophical principles were compromised by what they perceived to be the pragmatic way out. Rather than having the courage of standing toward their conservative principles, they allowed fear of the Hildabeast to rule their minds. (at least IMHO) This comment only refers to the (formerly) conservative people...a subset of those who were posting.

I know that a number of people, myself included, tried to make these people aware that they’d thrown their support to a solidly non-conservative candidate. I, for one, granted them that after the primary season, the situation might reveal itself better. I, for one, attempted to reason with them...saying that if he came out on top after the primaries, then would be the time to support him, but to try to work to get a CONSERVATIVE nominated until that time.

The funny part about it is that never ONCE did I get even a grudging acknowledgment from a single person with whom I attempted to reason. Not one. I was accused of being a Hillary supporter (barf), I was accused of trying to undermine the GOP, I was accused of worse. No bad language on my part. No foul innuendo. Just for pointing out the FACTS about Mr. Giuliani.

Again, I have nothing against political debate. As long as it is truly debate. Jimrob didn’t start this war, though. Although it is quite apparent that he intends to finish it. So be it.

As most know, I am a Catholic. If I walk into a Baptist Church, I know to be polite. I don’t have to compromise my principles to do so, but it would be extremely poor form for me to start splashing holy water everywhere, pull out my Rosary and start repeating Hail Mary, get a piece of incense and burn it, and so on. Likewise, it would be rude for a Calvinist to walk into a Catholic cathedral and start loudly muttering comments about the whore of Babylon and attempt to smash the statues. I live in Maryland...one of the most solidly “blue” states out there. I, likewise, would not go to Takoma Park (one of the bluest parts of MD) and start screaming epithets about Klinton and the Blue Dress. (I would not, and have not, hesitated to engage in polite, reasoned political discussion...when those socialists manage to attempt to have a cohesive thought...but that’s another discussion)

Well, this is a conservative site. I am sure that a person who is a moderate or left-winger would not be zotted merely for the fact that they hold a particular viewpoint. But they’d better recognize that this ain’t their church and act respectfully and intelligently while they are visiting. Calling conservatives idiots on this, the premier conservative website, is simply not the way to win friends and influence people.

Bug zapping? I, for one, think it’s about time. If, for no other reason, to clear out the Borg so that we can get to some real discussion and, perhaps, help save this country from itself!

(And, btw, you can count me in as a monthly donor type now too...)

I use wordpad or Open Office, or the latest version of Word Perfect.

I don’t like giving Microsoft any more money than necessary...and I burn copies of MS Works if they get too close...

“Guennie! $4.00 KEYBOARDS!

Don’t forget the $5.95 shipping charge and the 2 to 9 days waiting to get back on the net.
