Gingrich: Imams should have been arrested
UPI ^ | 17 DEC 2006 | UPI

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich told an audience in New Hampshire Muslim clerics pulled off a plane for praying should have been charged criminally.

Gingrich made the remark Friday night, as he delivered the keynote speech at the Manchester Republican City Committee Christmas dinner, the Manchester (N.H.) Union Leader reported.

"Those six people should have been arrested and prosecuted for pretending to be terrorists," Gingrich said. "And the crew of the U.S. airplane should have been invited to the White House and congratulated for being correct in the protection of citizens."

The imams, who had been attending a conference in Minneapolis, were pulled off a US Air flight to Phoenix after other passengers said they had been acting suspicious. They were questioned by the FBI for several hours and then released.

Their suspicious behavior apparently consisted of reports that they had prayed in Arabic and that they were not sitting together but had walked around to talk to each other.

Did you not get the memo?
They can stab American Jews and Christians, shoot American Jews and Christians,
target American Christians and Jews, kill any American they can
but nothing follows because they all received Official get-out-of-jail-free-cards when they got here.

Certainly, the MSM and FBI got the memo.

Want proof? ONLY non-Muslim AMERICANS
can be guilty of Hate Crimes in America, as now proven forever in Seattle, Chicago, N. Carolina, LAX, etc. etc. etc.

OK, for the sarcasm impaired I'll explain further.

They weren't pretending. They were being terrorists. The people on that flight were in terror.

Get it?

Jeez...

"I said 'pretending to be terrorists' was a fact not yet in evidence."

Given the behavior cited by the poster, what were they pretending to be?

He ((Newt Gingrich))certainly is MY choice for the job of POYUS.
Hook him up with a Mike Steel, a Herman Cain, or Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Duncan Hunter, or better yet, Hayley Barbour and you have a butt kicking philosophically and ideologically sound team that has executive experience (Speaker of the House qualifies)and both individuals crushingly unstoppable in debate, and clearly convincing in ideological presentation to the swing voters, who MAKE the difference.

The only resisters to such a combination are the self proclaimed "SaintCons"; the "Saintly Conservatives" who are looking for Christlike characteristics in their selected candidates.
Human beings with feet of clay or who have had any messy personal event in their lives need not apply.

Can you picture any of the above described combinations on the road meeting and greeting and discussing policy in the context of the real world and historical and geographic realities.
And a series of debates.
Barbour vs. Obama. :~)
Gingrich vs. Clinton. Hey Ref. Stop the fight.
Edwards-vs Diaz-Balart???? Bloody!! Steel vs Biden. OY!

Some people have had bad divorces, events in their lives they wish they did not have, and others still maintain poor marriages, and make everyone in their family miserable.

Ward & June Cleaver are not available for public office at this time. That is just a fact of life and UNLESS there was an ABUSIVE situation involved, the familial personal aspects of a candidates personal private life which does NOT have a direct involvement of boys/girls/goats, habitual crossdressing or attendance at cotillions in Leather Bars, do not affect the indicators of qualification or performance for the position description of POTUS/VPOTUS.

Newt is right. It was a well-thought out deliberate provocation. The only thing they didn't count on was the fact we're smarter than they are.

They were pumped up after this hate conference, now they decided to test how far they could go to get themselves attention. In the end they got what they wanted, they should have been jailed. You don't have to pretend to be a terrorist, it is much easier to be removed from a flight then what they did.

Why does the link under Republican in this sentence from the article, " Manchester Republican City Committee Christmas dinner", go to McCain's "Straight Talk" website?

Tell em Newt. The next President of the United States.

Newt should enter the race for POTUS. Even if he doesn't win, he will force the contenders to shift to the right. IMO

They've got no complaint. They were deliberately provocative, unlike the woman sitting in a window seat, next to her husband and breast-feeding who was removed because a flight attendant found it "offensive."

I think he's absolutely correct on this, and he's been correct on a lot of things.

Unfortunately, I don't think he has much chance of getting the nomination. I'll never forget the time Dole was nominated, mostly because the GOP honchos felt he had been around for a long time and "deserved" it. But in any case, I think Gingrich was demonized so much at the time he was forced to step down that I don't think the GOP bigwigs would back him.

You don't need to break a law to get kicked off a flight.

If the captain, crew or flight attendants want you off the flight, off you go.

I fly a lot and like it that way.

The passengers need to start filing class action suits specifically against the perps like these six who intentionally disrupt flights.

Imams should have been arrested

Amen. (I said the same thing on a couple of the Flying Imams threads shortly after their stunt.)
