Washington Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, assorted right wing nut-jobs, and right wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerrys comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record:
If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. Im sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.
Im not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Foxs Parkinsons disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.
The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.
Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because theyre afraid to debate real men. And this time it wont work because were going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.
Following Kerry's own twisted way of thinking, wouldn't that make him one of the dumb kids?
Don't waste your time. Call your local news media to raise Hell and demand they cover the story. Further, call your Democratic congressional and Senatorial candidate, incumbent or challenger, and raise Hell. Demand that they repudiate Kerry's remarks.
If we don't make this an immediate firestorm, we deserve to be known as the Stupid Party.
This bolsters the entire RATS are soft-on-defense and hate our troops line of attack.
I'm guessing it was made up...looked too Scrapplefaceish.
No, it couldn't have. It is clearly a swipe at the troops. Couldn't be more clear. Did you listen to it?
I am not defending the guy, I appreciate he got his a$$ in a wringer. His statement about his statement should turn into the "coverup" which usually hurts you more than the original statement. If he had come out and said it was a lame joke about Bush's intellect that was misunderstood he could let it drop, but, unless the DBM let's it go, this should cause a lot of discussion on the panel shows.
ABC Radio just played Kerry's comment on the top of the hour news, plus Tony Snow's demand for an apology. Naturally, they're spinning furiously, portraying it as an attack on President Bush, not on the troops.
I honestly had to check to see if this was one of your satires. Unreal!
LOLOLOLOL!!!!!! JOHN KERRY CALLING SOMEONE ELSE A STUFFED SUIT????????????? I had no idea the man was a comedian!
No, however they usually avoid behavior that is obvious to the most senile of their audience. Even CBS eventually chastised Dan Rather. The liberal spin machine will instinctively back Kerry and their MSM arm will carry that message for them unless the MSM determines that the message is so foul as to cause their audience to abandon them. No audience, no advertising revenue, no MSM. If for no other reason than simple survival they avoid kissing this pig.
Yes, it could have, and yes, I did, and yes I watched the video.
There, now the the MSM can report that "some are calling for Kerry's resignation over his shocking insult to our troops".
:)
"I don't think he meant that at all. I think he meant just what he said- just like all elites he has disdain for the military and can't understand why anyone would serve. Remember, the only reason he joined was that he thought he was about to be drafted."
EXACTLY! Kerry just let out his true and unconsious feelings about our military! It had nothing to do with President Bush! He is just spinning and spitting mad now because he got caught once again.
Any psychologist can look at both of his statements in the last 24 hours and get a good read on his narcissitic and borderline personality disorder!
I always loathed John Kerry more than I did Bill Clinton and that is saying alot....lol
So mad right now, I can hardly breathe!!
ARGHHHHHHH....
He's so pathetic.
I disagree, doubled, though I'm sure those who support Kerry will try to spin it that way. He is talking to students, about their future. I'd have to use some pretty twisted logic to think that he was referring to President Bush.
On a side note, I'm one of those folks who believe that when someone is referring to the President of the United States, we address the office with respect. Liberals refer to him as "Bush" out of a lack of respect. He's PRESIDENT Bush to me.
I see that both McCain and Boehner have issued statements asking Kerry to apologize to the troops and their families.
All Republican elected officials ought to call on Kerry to apologize to the members of our military.
