Who cares, he wrote it, it's weird, and if people don't like it taht is his problem. maybe it's a great book, but you don't expect your minister or senator to write it. If a guy makes a porno movie maybe it's his Constitutional right, but he has to recognize people might not elect him Pope or Senator thereafter.

"The story will either get buried before the weekend or it'll be used to make Allen look stupid."Only in your sick perverted liberal dreams. It's up on Drudge already. Webb is finished in politics.
To: petitfour
Writers have leeway to write about human character. True, but a reader might also wonder, "What kind of mind dreams up these things?"

It was sarcasm. You did see the "LOL" in my post, right?

It just goes to show that money doesn't equal class or taste. Both are things that many Dems lack.

Christopher Shays of Connecticut actually came out in defense of Dennis Hastert a few weeks ago and mentioned that at least the man didn't drive off a bridge and leave a young woman to drown.
Talk about being shocked.......who knew Shays had it in him.

Whether or not anyone agrees, most rationale people tend to hold politicians to a higher standard, as well it should be. We don't hold politicians to a higher standard. Maybe back in the 50's but our current crop of scumbag politicians (from both parties) put that notion to rest. Unless you argue that rational people no longer vote. WE elect some of the biggest hacks to represent us.

The first President Bush lost because Ross Perot got 19% of the vote. The pervert got 43% of the vote.

You know, I can't get worked up about Allen doing this. Think about this: Nothing was "dug up". This is public stuff. These books can be bought. And yet this has never been talked about.
This is an indictment of the media, to be honest.

This is a bit different than having people like 'Professor' Larry Sabato say that he heard other people say something about what George Allen said 30 years ago.Webbs books use the "N" word 11 times. Allen is more than safe on that issue now.

I think the context is important.... if the man (a soldier?) who put his son's penis in his mouth is a Democrat its nobody's business, but if he is a Repblican then we need an investigation of the House and the Senate and the military

Underage, incestuous, homosexual sex scenes... Sounds like something out of a New Jersey gubernatorial race.

Key point: Isn't Shays very liberal? they are vicious. Did you see that when Shays finally said it, it resonated all over the country. That is what would happen if republicans would open their mouths and speak truth to left wing power. Believe me, Teddy does NOT want Chappaquidik talked about. He shut the hell up after that.
