Buckeye Firearms Association has always described itself as a non-partisan political action committee. Yet in recent days, PAC Chairman Jim Irvine has been in conversation with a reader who takes exception to the endorsement of Democrats. (For an excellent article on the NRA's endorsement of Democrats in national races, click here)
In a bit of ironic timing, as this conversation was going on, another Buckeye Firearms Association volunteer was having her own conversation with just the type of Republican this PAC could never endorse...

BTW, a belated welcome to FR, I see you just joined us this month.
Funny thing about Democrats, they tell the usual suspects what they want to hear on any single hot button issue and then go to DC and do exactly the opposed.
But this is usual for the Always Angry, unless they get throughly politically reamed by a Democrat every 4 to 6 years, they forget way it is utter idiocy to trust a Democrat on anything. Then there is the other little matter the Always Angry ignore. You are not just electing this or that Democrat, you are putting in charge of the Congress or the Legislature ALL the Democrats. THIS one Dim may be ok, but what about the ones who will chair the committees and head up the offices if this one gets elected?
If you stay home, though, just remember to shut your yap until the next election, because you have no right to complain.

NO
Never happen where I vote but if it means having to vote for, or give the election to, a Democrat of any stripe, sorry. Although gun freedoms are very important to me, there are just too many other issues to consider than any single one.
No, but it's not that simple.
You need to vote to maximize the chances of what you want, and to minimize the chances of what you don't.
In most cases (not all), electing the Republican will optimize your outcomes.
Counter examples: Chaffee (R-RI). He's an enemy. When he loses, we should celebrate.
Sometimes a lunchbucket Democrat would be better than a country-club RINO.
But in general, a party-supported candidate who is safely tucked within the GOP House or Senate caucus will do less harm than a communist running on the RAT line.
Your problem with gun laws (and I agree they are both useless and anti-Constitutional, a rare twofer) is not the existence of RINOs but the fact that not enough of our fellow citizens agree with you.
Work on that.
Support in terms of endorsements from gun rights orgs should be given on the basis of the gun issue alone, regardless of party.
No.

You've got it right. It bears repeating.
"The time to get rid of these RINOS are during the primaries
not just before the election."
BINGO!!! Get rid of him/her in the primary, but if he/she is on the ballot in the General Election, you gotta go with the lesser of two evils, no matter how distastfull it might be. I will never vote for a Democrat. Gun rights are very important to me, but I can't use that issue as the absolute determining factor for my vote. I have to look at the big picture. A RINO can for the most part be controlled by the majority.
BTW any non vote or third party vote is a vote for the dark side. There is WAY to much at stake right now for anyone to stay home to "teach the RINOs a lesson". Just think ... speaker Pelosi ... if you have ANY thoughts of not voting or voting for a third party this election.

Here is from my "profile" here:
When voting, I look at the two people most likely to win. I will take a conservative over a moderate Republican if I can get it. I will accept a moderate Republican over a RINO if I have to. I will live with a RINO over a Demoncrat if I must. I will not vote for a Demoncrat under any circumstances. Neither will I a vote for a conservative (regardless of the label he wears) if it means that a Demoncrat is sure to win (for example, in a 3-way race). If a conservative is only pulling 5%, 10% or 15% of the votes, all he is is a spoiler, not a serious candidate.
