Rush reports that a Cessna has been reported as crashing into (at least one) apartment complex in NYC Mannhattan's upper east side - on East 71st Street.
I've got Pipeline too...no audio, only video on the KHOU screen and the only thing flying {and crawling} was wasps! Ugh!
NBC channel 4 out of NYC just stated they have the tail numbers of the aircraft and can tell us that it is registered to an individual out of Lakeland Florida.
Is it true that Cirrus had to fit the parachute system to the SR20/SR22 because they couldn't get them certified by the FAA otherwise, due to the fact it was hard to recover from a spin? I heard that somewhere but never knew if it was true or not.

You don't suppose this was yet another Kennedy clanster who just got his Private Pilot's License & was showing off by playing airplane football over Manhattan, do you?
"Ah, Muhammed, after an afternoon of sightseeing I feel like having a refreshing swim! Allah Fubaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr..."
I don't give a ^&%& if he is a NY-er, he and the likes of him could ruin General Aviation so quickly it isn't funny,
Well that's just it, based on the pictures of the fire and impact zone, it's a small hole compared to a larger private aircraft. If it was a larger private aircraft it would have caused an explosion and there was none. ANd if it was terrorists forced to use a smaller plane they'd of had explosives inside that would explode after impact. I think it won't be too much longer it will be reported that it was a small single engine plane and the fuel igniting caused the big fire, not the size of the plane itself. It just doesn't look like a twin engine aircrafr given the size of the actual impact hole. Most of the visable fire is through windows and if it was a larger plane, there would be no windows, just big gaping hold with flames.
Saw a taxpayer funded PBS rant yesterday on Frontline about how all talk of domestic terrorism is overblown. They question whether they is any presence of "real" Al Qaeda operatives in the US.
In a big city you're probably right. I read they had 168 firefighters there. In suburbs with little volunteer fire companies, 4 alarm would be 4 companies -- more than that would be coming from so far away, even a major fire would likely be out before they got there.
Doesn't look like an accident to me.
When was it renamed?
You are right. It irritates me and shows me the stupidity of the MSM when they announce "it's not terrorism" when it is too early for anyone to know whether it is or isn't terrorism. Reporters and even some politicians would seem more credible if they simply said they don't know until more is known.
read upthread, the kid was an islamo-sympathizer.
Okay -judging by content, I'd say this is terrorism. Definitely pro-Muslim terrorism! Does terrorism have to be 'big'? Would not many small attacks terrorize people?
Now- as an amateur handwriting analyst I can tell you that, based on the note, this person was VERY, VERY 'down' when writing it. Very negative. Sexually repressed/unfulfilled, very focused , stubborn, secretive and had a short, mercurial temper.
Since the plane took off from New Jersey( very highly populated with Muslims) terrorism was my first thought. Any word on name and age of this individual?
I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue......
Fixed wing chopper? Good grief. Says someone who knows nothing about aircraft. Talk about an oxymoron. :)
Me? Just a bit.
