Rush reports that a Cessna has been reported as crashing into (at least one) apartment complex in NYC Mannhattan's upper east side - on East 71st Street.
jumped into the river before the plane crashed?
maybe it was some sightseeing plane, and an islamo-kook was taking the tour, and took control?
Here's his suicide note that authori:
I have prepared this statement in regards to theterroristacts I am about to commit. First of all, Osama bin Laden is absolutely justified in the terror he has caused on 9-11. He has brought a mighty nation to its knees! God blesses him and the others who helped make September 11th happen. The U.S. will have to face the consequences for its horrific actions against the Palestinian people and Iraqis by its allegiance with the monstrous Israelis--who want nothing short of world domination!
You will pay--God help you--and I will make you pay!
There will be more coming!
Al Qaeda and other organizations have met with me several times to discuss the option of me joining. I didn't.
This is an operation done by me only. I had no other help, although, I am acting on their behalf.
Osama bin Laden is planning on blowing up the Super Bowl with an antiquated nuclear bomb left over from the 1967 Israeli-Syrian war.
"Now MSNBC is reporting it was a "Cirrus 20""
If it was a Cirrus, it shouldn't be in a building....
They have the Parachute Recivery System, don't they?
Unless, the pilot veered off course and suddenly announced that he wanted to kill himself. At which point the passenger decided he'd better bail.
On the other hand, perhaps the jumper knew the plane was inoperable and realized his only hope was to bail before getting over Manhattan...
Still seems to be an accident.
Why are they showing a live shot of Houston on CNN pipeline?
Something happening there too?
Fabulous read. I highly recommend it.
I don't know what is going on with CNN Pipeline...they have video, no audio of KHOU (Houston) and there are wasps crawling all over the lens. Weird...
I believe the Official line on TWA 800 completely, yes.
And eyewitnesses to aircraft crashes are notoriously unreliable.
By now, we should have heard of the name of the pilot. Airfields know where folks are headed even if they're private planes. The plane fell to the ground besides and they all have numbers on them. What's the delay??
hmm, into a river no less....
If a fire chief saw wreckage IN the apartment, that is very good news, indicating the building fire is out and the risk of collapse would be past.
Roger, Roger.
Thanks for the clarification. The Hospital for Special Surgery is a great institution. A friend had his shoulder successfully rebuilt there after hotshot surgeons from other NY hospitals told him it was hopeless and he wouldn't have full use of his arm again.
A few years ago a small plane crashed into a building in Tampa. A teenager was flying the plane. Everybody kept saying it wasn't terrorism. But when the truth emerged the kid's hero was OBL.
Yep, it has the parachute.
All clear in Camden,Me.
Cirrus SR-20...four-seat, single-engine, low-wing fixed-gear plane. It's a relatively new design and very popular. Here's a picture of one (this is NOT the accident aircraft):

The interesting thing about the Cirrus is that it was the first mass-production aircraft with a parachute. In the event of an out-of-control condition, the pilot can yank a couple levers in the cockpit, part of the plane's roof flies off and a large parachute deploys. In theory, the plane will float straight down to a hard but survivable impact. The Cirrus will be trashed (the deployment will probably twist the frame beyond repair) but the occupants should survive.
