Rush reports that a Cessna has been reported as crashing into (at least one) apartment complex in NYC Mannhattan's upper east side - on East 71st Street.
I recall that kid flying a plane into that building in Tampa and that he was a Muslim but it was not an act of terrorism. However, I do not recall his name or anything else about him.
Do you have any other information on the Tampa Terrorist?
I'm taking a bow. It's little known. I lived near York for years before I bought a neat book about NYC street names and learned the source.
It's a great trivia question. I had one Brit guess it was named after the Duke of York!
There's a public school on York and 78th which has the old "Avenue A" name in concrete.
That's interesting considering the plane hit the building dead-center. If the pilot was trying to avoid the building, you'd think the plane would clip it, or impact off-center.

Hmmmm. And the date today is...10-11. Seems like the eleven's have it!
Charles Bishop/Bishra and he called it an act of terrorism in his letter. The word terrorist is scratched out but he did write it.
This is also the day that the billionth Gummy Bear was sold, so they will be coming to life and attacking convience stores all over the world at midnight.

UN is about 1.5 miles south of that spot and Gracie Mansion is a little over 1 mile north of that spot, so if either of those was a target in this the pilot did not have any aim at all..... I'm leaning toward an accident with a heart attack or stroke rendering the pilot unconscious, but what do I know??

The kid wasn't a Muslim, despite writing the aforementioned very weird suicide note regarding Bin Laden, etc. Had emotional problems and an Arab grandfather (who almost certainly was an Arab Christian since he came to the US in the early part of the 20th Century) and a name changed from Bishara to Bishop.

VFR conditions do not require a flight plan. Not sure if that applies or not. Officials right now are concentrating on mitigating damage and injury, and preventing additional incidents.
Inquiry comes later, disclosure after that.
First reports are often wrong.
