Tampa, Florida (AP) County records show Hillsborough County officers spent more than $6,000 for 92 lap dances, drinks and tips in an investigation into nudity and liquor law violations at an adult bikini bar.
The investigation spanned more than two years.
Sheriff David Gee says sometimes that's what it takes to get rid of problems.
Gee says vice detectives first targeted Lil Tootsie's nightclub after deputies responded to numerous calls ranging from violence to DUI arrests.
The agency recently asked county commissioners to revoke the club's special permit to serve alcohol.
Records show sheriff's detectives sought 41 misdemeanor nudity charges against 15 dancers at the club, but were unable to identify another 34 dancers.

" deputies responded to numerous calls ranging from violence to DUI arrests."
So, naturally, when you are called to a violence report, it's standard police procedure to get yourself a lap dance or two while you're there and charge them to the tax payer. You know what? They're right. Someone's getting screwed.

but were unable to identify another 34 dancers. The line-up should've been of chest shots... head shots would've been useless.

From watching TV, I have learned that all police investigations go through at least one strip joint.

A No-Brainer, make each dancer sit nude on a copy machine for her ID. Undercover cops could remember each dancer.
To make things interesting you could ask a few non-dancers to pose too. Just to keep the cops up on their toes........

I do not even want to know how depraved and disturbed someone had to be in order to even be able to focus the camera on that scene ... (shudder)

What did they get for 250K?

HAHHAHAHa...exactly, there was a "probe" into how the funds were spent.
basically:
Champagne.
Cocktails
Lap Dances
Food
etc....plus the "detectives" where taking their friends along...etc. Plus, I am sure they were getting other "off the menu" services, which are available to this day at the local Houston Clubs for the right price.

When I still read newspapers, I read this same story in the Tampax Tribune, 10-20 years ago.
It looks like the cops are still doing the same ole tricks.
