Mexico - where bounty hunting is illegal - claims Chapman jumped bail after being charged with illegally detaining Luster in June 2003.
A new special about last week's arrest will air tonight (10 p.m.) on A&E.
Chapman, who is out on $300,000 bail, said on yesterday's "Today" show that if he goes to prison in Mexico, he will be killed by inmates avenging the thousands of fleeing felons he's brought to justice.
"I won't last two days," he said.

Why folks on this site go ga-ga over this self-consciously butch bail bondsmen is beyond me. Personally, I would watch his show if it were transferred to a Mexican prison. Think of the ratings, Dog!
No matter how you feel about Mr. Chapman, this is just WRONG!!!!
Do you think it's right for Mexicans to come into our country and break the laws? I don't.
Same holds true for Chapman. He went to another country and broke their laws. Once he did that, it was perhaps inevitable that they would want to nab such a high-profile criminal. And exchanging wanted fugitives is what nations do.
Do I think this type of exchange is a great idea? Not particularly. I don't have a terribly high opinion of Mexican justice, and maybe neither do you. But when you go to a sovereign nation and break its laws, there are consequences. Dog has nobody to blame but himself.

If they really sold dog out for the failed war on some drugs, then that's just criminal.
Mexico is a corrupt renegade country that harbors criminals who commit violent crimes against American citizens... yeah it's right to go into their country and drag the scum back for prosecution. Glad to see there is someone who did. Our government refuses to.

This isn't about bringing back Dog for prosecution in MeJico... it's about getting his bond money and any other crooked pay off they can arrange to let him off. There is absolutely no noble cause here on MeJico's part.

Good to see Mexico is worried about the real bad guys. They must have the massive meth shipments into the US under control, the massive amounts of illegals coming into the US under control, the middle eastern types slipping into the US under control. That's it; go after a guy who came down to get a US citizen rapist criminal that Mexico wouldn't touch.

The death of Steve Irwin and the cowardly and brutal attempt to assasinate Chapman, one of the law's most vigorous enforcers, makes it painfully clear that men who achieve greatness by dint of their individual effort are in mortal danger.
The direction of our society is profoundly evil. We must relearn the critical importance of those individuals who stand for more than mediocrity and cowardice.
Our leaders have lost the ability to stand up to tyranny and have become tyrants. It is time to take our government back from the despots.
Whether it is environmentalist laws that criminalize those who seek to live with nature or a judicial system that throws its unsung heroes into the vile pit of a Mexican jail, this cannot stand. There is a terrible evil being done that must be stopped.

Wouldn't drug lords pay far more money that Chapman with his little watched cable TV show?
