Gad, you know, when you start tracking the photos, Green Helmet has been like Tarzan, all over the place.   Some prankster suggest they give this character a medal of the year award for all the bodies he's pulled out of the rubble.   In reality, I think it will found, that he was shamefully collaborating with the Arab Reuters photographer.   The dark, ugly side of war propaganda!

Someone at Guardian (UK) debunked a claim made by a blog RE: Qana. There was a claim about some "blurred writing" on the front of a guy's white shirt. The Guardian had access to a pic with better resolution than the pic published on the web & posted a close up of the area of the shirt in question. The shirt had a Fila logo, which was another thing that raised questions at that blog.

I don't think the pros are motivated to bust open stories about fudging news and/or photos. I think they prefer this would all just go quietly away. A "pundit" may be interested & may have access to better quality photos.

Wait a minute.


That photo is NOT of any airport, NOT of any fuel tanks at an airport, and NOT of the Beirut airport. (I'll grant it is a "possible" a fire near a TV TOWER (on a hill) but NOT of any airport.

Hint: IF it is of fuel tanks burning in an airport, where are the runways? Airport lights/towers/taxi ways/loading ramps.....

That "hillside: that is burning is NOT "flat" and is immediately downtown, surrounded by multi-story buildings in a built-up area. Neither possible with an "airport".

Check out nbr 553 of this thread: It looks to me that the Reuters photo (then used by the NY Times on the front page) of the Beirut airport "fires" is not only NOT of any possible "airport" (being of something burning on a hill surrounded by high-rise buildings) but that the "tanks burning" part of the photo is itse;f heavily edited/photoshopped.
