Just breaking on FOX that the IAF has viedo of the bombing of the Qana building that proves rocket launchers were present. More to follow soon...
"Why not let the words of 'angryjordanian' be kept out in the open for all to see? Why do we have to cleanse the thread by eliminating truth (feelings, anyway)? Isn't that kind of like what the MSM does?"
I agree. Let this person be educated, not censored. I'd like to know what he has to say; cant be worse than the NYTimes BS that gets posted here in articles. If this really is an 'angryjordanian' let him get the full measure of OUR views on the matter and defend what ever absurdity he was propounding. As it is, I have no clue what he was saying.
"Your comment is even worse than the "Already Posted Here" remarks that are too common on this forum."
Mr Brightside, your comments on the uselessness of live threads was already posted. :-)
"
The Melbourne man who smuggled the shots out of Beirut and did not wish to be named said he was less than 400m from the block when it was obliterated.
"Hezbollah came in to launch their rockets, then within minutes the area was blasted by Israeli jets," he said.
"Until the Hezbollah fighters arrived, it had not been touched by the Israelis. Then it was totally devastated."

Spock mode on ... "Fascinating" ...
I dont know percentage, butwe do know this much:
Hezbollah holds Lebanese civilians hostage
http://freedomstruth.blogspot.com/2006/07/hezbollah-holds-lebanese-civilians.html
Refugee pleads to MSM: Hezbollah came to Ain Ebel to shoot its rockets, said Fayad Hanna Amar, a young Christian man, referring to his village. They are shooting from between our houses. Please, he added, write that in your newspaper.
... Many Christians from Ramesh and Ain Ebel considered Hezbollahs fighting methods as much of an outrage as the Israeli strikes. Mr. Amar said Hezbollah fighters in groups of two and three had come into Ain Ebel, less than a mile from Bint Jbail, where most of the fighting has occurred. They were using it as a base to shoot rockets, he said, and the Israelis fired back.
One woman, who would not give her name because she had a government job and feared retribution, said Hezbollah fighters had killed a man who was trying to leave Bint Jbail. This is whats happening, but no one wants to say it for fear of Hezbollah, she said.
"This is why the "war on terror" is an abject failure, like the "war on drugs"."
No, its not.
"Absent a clear definition of the enemy state, it is impossible to wage and decisively win a war."
Not true at all. Numerous guerilla wars have been fought and won against rebel forces, from US in Phillipines 1900-1910 to El Salvador in 1980s.
IF your point is that Israel needs to declare war on Syria ... Um, no it doesnt. If Israel's goal is the end to the Hezbollah front, then their war aims are to destroy Hezbollah and/or prevent them from operating militarily in south Lebanon. That's it. Syria is irrelevent to that war aim unless Syria actively prevents it from happening.
BTW: We are winning the war on terror.
This is a perfect encapsulation of what the terrorists have been up to for decades....
The PR scam heard 'round the world!!!
"IDF May Not Have Caused Kana Deaths
20:50 Jul 30, '06 / 5 Av 5766
(IsraelNN.com) Senior IDF officers told reporters a short time ago that there is a contradiction in the timing of the bombing of the village of Kana and reports of the explosion that killed more than 50 civilians and set off world-wide condemnation of Israel. Air Force Commander Amir Eshel left open the possibility that Hizbullah terrorists blew up the building or that an unknown cause set off explosives which were stored in the structure.
He explained that recorded information shows that Israeli Air Force planes bombed the building between midnight and 1 a.m. and that the next attack at 7:30 a.m. was up to 500 yards away. He said reports of the killing of civilians came around 8 a.m. "It is not clear what happened" between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m., he said.
Brigadier General Ido Nehushtan pointed out that Hizbullah terrorists have fired more than 150 rockets from the village of Kana since the beginning of the war"
thanks for the news wrt Qana.
UN aid and comfort to the HEzbollah terrorist group. ouch.
It's a war, you can't avoid civilian casualties, especially when they launch attacks from within civilian areas.
"How come Israel gave a 48 hour cease fire? If one is clearly winning a conflict, and the PR/media campaign, why grant a ceasefire for the enemy to re-arm?"
Israel has had 3 weeks of airstrikes. They are likely running out of targets by now. 48 hours to let civilians get the h*ll out is what Israel wants anyway...
The key is on the ground. If Israel wants to win, they have to go and take the ground. If not, then they are mostly done. IDF claims 75% of Hezbollah military capability (launchers etc) is destroyed.
Also this "lease provide a critique of the President's policy regarding the Israel/Lebanon issue. Does his unwavering support of the Lebanese government, of which Hizb is an elected participant, cause any issues? "
WHAT unwavering support of Lebanon PM??? Here on planet earth the Lebanese PM has been begging for Israel to stop, and begging US to help us make Israel stop. BUSH AND RICE DIDNT DO THAT. We've offered humanitarian aid and that's it. No sops and no rushing to save Lebanon from strikes while demanding a 'lasting peace' that takes out Hezbollah's threat to Israel, and getting a lot of heat for it.
Agreed
So why hasn't LEBABON itself stopped the rocket attacks on Israel?
"So why hasn't LEBABON itself stopped the rocket attacks on Israel? "
There are no political forces inside Lebanon strong enough or willing enough to force Hezbollah to disarm.
Hezbollah's political strength based on support from Shia community has forced them to be a part of the Lebanese Govt.
One Lebanese blogger described the Sunnis as 'coastal merchants' who are cowards who wont fight anybody. The current PM is a Sunni, a compromise candidate, who wont rock the boat vis a vis Hezbollah, and will instinctively be craven to terrorists' games. Christians are a minority. The anti-Syrian Cedar Revolution alliance got fractured in the elections and Syria has its friends running many things ...
Disarming Hezbollah can only happen from outside. we are too busy first getting Syria to account for hariri's death to force implementation.
THAT'S why nothing was done.
Thanks for the post.
Now here's one for you: "Heinz Kerry-Funded Web Site Praises Hezbollah
A Web site partially funded by Teresa Heinz Kerry offers a report glorifying Hezbollah (Hizbullah) suicide bombers as deified in paradise and venerated on earth for fighting Israel - and praises the terrorist groups support network for women widowed by their husbands martyrdom attacks."
http://www.ourjerusalem.com/news/story/heinz-kerry-funded-web-site-praises-hezbollah.html
Does anyone else remember Thereezah's record on Hizbullah support?
I wish we had a big boy thread where we could view all the pulled material.
You know I knew about the terror threat live threads after 9/11. But I guess I don't look at recent posts. When I sign in, I look at a couple of pages of recent articles to see what I want to read and comment on. And I scan the blue bar on the right for interesting looking articles. Either I'm not looking in the right place, or the title is boring and I'm mentally skipping it.
I'll second that!
