I think you are right that it's not a conspiracy, per se...but it seems to me there are many people who make money off of the fight. The media, consultants, fundraisers. It isn't a conspiracy so much as a natural state of being.

I don't think it is all a conspiracy. But I have to think there is a reason why in the last few years every thing has gotten so nasty. I mean everything has to be a fight.

I think I was hearing that the left had raised what something like 60 million dollars to fight Bush's first Supreme Court nominee. Well Roberts was impeccable and that money could not be spent and shelled out on the DC political consultant crowd and related firms. Alot of people lost out on some nice Christmas money lst year over both Alito and Roberts.
I mean I guess I don't see it as much as a conspiracy I just think that folks want to make money up there

Yes, but it also isn't anything "new", either. :-)

The only issue at hand is the fence. Forget conspiracies and everything else. Simcox solicited funds for a fence advertised to cost 200 bucks per foot to construct. That is not in dispute. To date he has constructed a fence that at the top end cost 30 bucks a foot to construct. His original fence design will never see the light of day for many reasons so what we will have are a series of short 30 dollar per foot fences with the excuse that he couldn't get the required permits from the "evil gubberment". That will resonate with many of his supporters who come from the Patriot Movement. Simcox and associates know that and so they have a ready made rationale to pocket the surplus funds.

lovely lol, Of course the problem is who is going to expose that. I suspect Lou Dobbs doesnt want to look like a idiot so is CNN? Lord FOX has been in the Hallujah corner forever. Sean Hannity, well heck his best friend(who I am not sure I can mention her name on here) C.H. bamboozled him into the whole Simcox thing so is he going to make himself look foolish?

You did get a bit carried away, which is why I tried to reign you in a bit.

Look, absolutely NOTHING about any of this is "new". If you think that the N.Y.Slimes et al's attacks on the president are beyond the pale, read INFAMOUS SCRIBBLERS, by Eric Burns, for starters. If you think that political scandals, name calling and dirty tricks are also newish, I have quite a few more book titles to give you. LOL

Hamilton and Burr's duel, was MORE political than personal...go look it up. :-)

Jefferson paid a hack to smear his political foes, in print, when said hack wasn't given what he thought his due, he turned on Tom and started the whole Sally Hemmings lie.

Yes, there's money to be in in politics and that's part of the reason some people go into it; whether as candidates or handlers, or whatever. For others, it power and fame. For the very few, it is a call of duty.

Absolutely correct.

When you really think about it logically, private individuals building an Israeli style fence is a crazy idea to begin with. A few miles here, and a few miles there is ridiculous on it's face.

Thanks for bringing me back around. Got a little distracted with the history of this thing brouhaha. It seemed to blow in from nowhere. Hopefully...it will blow back to where it came from.

There are going to be a lot of big names with egg on their face. It will be found out. This serious money and it attracts a lot of attention at the state and federal levels. You have to remember that this exposure is coming from within as the tape this thread is based on shows. There is no honor amongst thieves.

Well your right this is nothing new in the big scheme of political history. And there is a definate politcal philosophical fight going on so it is not all about money. I guess though it just seems that my mail box get fuller every day with all this organizations asking me for money for cause x,y,and z and I am starting to find it troubling they are so interconnected. But I see your point

WEll I have been doing some research on 501c4 requirements and man it is taylor made for this type of scam. The donations are NOT tax deductable BUT the 501c4 is almost completly tax exempt for that money. This link shows the comparisons of diferent 501c organizations and it is amazing how little accounatbility is required

I was doing a little research on 501c4's the other night, as well.

I'm very familiar with 501c3 as I belong to a amateur radio club whose organization filed for 501c3 status from the outset. Which enabled us to get utilities infrastructure donated from the power company (poles, electrical box, wiring, etc.). As our local club repeater is located in a high and remote area. We also got donated backup power equipment, as many of the members of our club do emergency comunications.

My research and learning reached the very same conclusion you've reached.

Well of course that tape was made in what late april. Also this is a political hot potato. If this is fraud as to this fence. Can you imagine the uproar if a Bush appointed Federal Prosecutor filed mail fraud charges on this.

Just take your snail mail junk mail and throw it all out...UNOPENED!

That way, YOU get to decide who YOU want to donate to; or not.

There are going to be a lot of big names with egg on their face.

I feel vindicated in some way, because I recognized this whole charade as the perfect scam many months ago. All that time people thought I was crazy. I told them "follow the money".

Well I am a retired engineer with 40 years in engineering and construction and the Simcox fence a major construction effort that would cost the rancher an absolute fortune to maintain not to mention his legal liability if someone is hurt or killed trying to breach it. The only entity that can authorize that type of barrier on an international border is the United States Or Mexico. They can cry private property all they want but the border is federal land no matter whose ranch it is on.

Not to mention the huge property tax increase the rancher would end up absorbing.

The maintenance costs would be incredible. Laughable.

Not only that, but you have to hire someone to drive that little jeep that runs up and down the track in the middle. ; D

Who has obviously never read a Platte of Survey.

not to mention his legal liability if someone is hurt or killed trying to breach it

Who also obviously doesn't know squat about Texas property laws.

The only entity that can authorize that type of barrier on an international border

Who obviously has trouble with basic reading comprehension skills. They're building on private property.

BTW squid must have really tiny nipples because Pence still hasn't managed to get enough ink together to actually draft a Bill.
