Guess Scrushy's "I was born a poor black child" defense didn't work this time.

The Culture Of Corruption continues. The GOP will pay a huge price for this in November.

I'm shocked to be honest. I'm glad they found him guilty, but I figured they were stalling when they couldn't decide.

I just finished attending a deposition with countless lawyers. One gent's blackberry announced the jury had reached a verdict. All the attorney's speculated a not guilty verdict. I guessed guilty. This Alabamian knows Sielgleman is a crook.

Well I guess LUCY BAXLEY just lost two votes in November.
Good to see Scrushy finally find one he couldn't wiggle out of, and Seigleman should be glad this is all they have come up with on him.

No mention of party affiliation. Now if they were Republicans it would've read:
"Former REPUBLICAN AL Gov. SoAndSo CONVICTED of CORRUPTION."

We were talking about this last night after the local news. Figured there is no way Scrushy will ever be convicted of anything. He could be caught on tape doing something criminal, and still would go free. I guess not this time!

I'll admit I'm in somewhat of shock, seeing as we knew one of the families. The shock of course is that Siegelman was convicted, it was not the strongest of cases, and it's strongest evidence relied on people who were, well, less than honorable.
Since 1990, we have had 4 governors. Now, we can say that 2 of them have been convicted of felonies.

Siegelman guilty on 10 counts.....Somehow I am not surpised that this Democrapic Creep Siegelman has been found guilty of corruption charges.
A few years ago he was bound and determined to honor Muslim Turks in his state over the objection of survivors of the Armenian genocide. There was a letter writing campaign hoping to try to convince him not to sign the proclamation.
He stubbornly refused to listen to the Christian community and signed the proclamation anyway...he was good at taking bribes!

Nice!! Anytime genuine political corruption is brought to justice is a good thing regardless of party affiliation.
