Honor Our Troops

We Support Our Troops! For the freedom you enjoyed yesterday... Thank the Veterans who served in The United States Armed Forces.
No greater love hath a man than to give his life for his friends.
FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT: Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.
On Valentine's Day, we celebrate love. Usually we celebrate the love between a man and a woman. However, there are many faces of love, and I believe that our men and women who serve or have served in our armed forces are the epitome of love. The sacrifice, the caring, the hardships--they endure all because they believe in our country, they believe in defending her people, and they believe in the rights for which our forefathers fought so adamantly. I dedicate this thread to recognizing the faces of love that these fine folks show to us in so many ways. God bless each of them. |

Happy Valentine's Day To All The Ladies Of The Canteen!
Listening To Auntie Cat
Megan and Max sat perfectly still
In the damp Spring grass at the foot of the hill
Watching as the burnished Cat glided down
Dark paws flowing. Barely touching the ground
To coil up in Majestic repose without a sound
Max leaned forward to break the silence
Courteous and respectful, not hinting at violence
As Megan blurted impatiently, "Who are you?"
If meant to annoy, the Cat was not phased
Tail curled around her front paws, she turned her gaze
And spoke softly as a breeze on a Summer's day
"I am the Cat who has been with these Humans for years
They are good and generous and have chosen you two
To share their lives and joys and sometimes, tears
You are young, so many days will seem wonderful and new
I am here to help you because you are brave and have hearts so true."
Max beamed and Megan blushed
As a cloud covered the sun and the mood became hushed
The puppies hoping the moment would not be crushed
"Watch after the Humans and their Little Ones
Though small and fast, they can be lots of fun
You'll know which one is yours at First Sight
Your job is to be their Companions Day and Night
And protect them when out of their Parents' sight."
Max's chest puffed out and Megan positively preened
As the Cat took in this most telling scene
And rewarded them both with a smile so serene
