I've seen several news shows that have broadcast names and photos of those who have been killed and the news shows are slammed for shining negative light on the war. I've never understood that. I think it is helpful and important to keep a human face on the war to remind people that is is our county-men and women who in harms way (as well as our family members).
If they did that, I'm sure more than a few here would be slamming the MSM for harping on all the injured soldiers, that they are defeatist, emboldening the enemy, ect...
Before we get too far down this road, what was their marketing ploy? Surely not to get them injured?
There is nothing wrong with me toots.
I am not the one implying his being there and/or being injured was some sort of "Marketing ploy" or campaign or conspiracy.
I can't comment on his agenda because I don't watch the news on TV(well I do watch the 6PM evening news because I like to hear what is going on in and around the Metro area).
All I know is he is a US Citizen who bravely decided to go to Iraq and got hurt while there.
I hope he and his photog will recover from his injuries and continue on in their employment.
I think it's stupid and naive. jmo.

I'd wager ABC will pay the bill.
If you are going to suggest that we as taxpayers will, you don't know squat about the military or government and how it works.
ABC began their new campaign after Jennings has died to move anchors around from place to place and go to places where news is being made to have the anchor broadcast from there.
Just last night I heard their commercial touting this, how they have this fellow, who's now been injured, and a woman who co-anchors in different places, depending on what the important news story is.
This is a gimmick and a ploy to set them apart from others who anchor from New York or DC. It is marketing.
