Bob Woodward and photographer injured in IED attack.
They both deserve respect for going into harm's way. They certainly get mine.
Embedded reporters are distrusted and shunned (actually, "despised" is the word I heard) by the soldiers they travel with.....for good reason.
Too bad about these guys, but hey, life's a bi**ch.
I hope no soldiers were hurt.
I wish you were right, but I'm afraid this will just be seen as another victim or twoo of "Bush's War".
Interesting that the terro----er, I mean Insurgents--don't care if they hit folks sympathetic to them or not.
twoo=two, but you knew that.
What does IED stand for?
Improvised Explosive Device, IED.
Improvised Explosive Device. Usually artillery shells rigged to explode. The country is awash in thousands of tons of arty. From the Saddam era.
I wish each and everyone of our wounded and killed troops received this kind of attention.......
Improvised Explosive Device. A bomb.
Amen to that. Our troops are far more important than these yahoos tooling around in a war zone.
In any case, I hope EVERYONE involved is okay.
Taji is where I worked for nine months fron 2004 to early 2005.
It has always been somewhat of a hot zone.
What is the over/under on this being blamed on W and the Republican Culture of Corruption?
may change how the media refers to "insurgents".
Don't hold your breath.
This event will be Bush's fault by tonight's broadcast of ABC news.
Al, I stand stuned.
Ping
I just hope that none of our soldiers were hurt or killed. It does not sound too good though....
ABC's "World News Tonight"
Is this some news show or something? Networks trying to compete with the internet I see..
For ABC to use "serious" as description, I fear the worst for these two men. Were others injured or killed in this attack?
I only care about the soldiers. So far not one word if any of them were hurt. Shocker!
I was watching Fox when this story broke......Julian Philips and Chetry started going on and on about Woodruff and his cameraman, the story being about a DEDICATED JOURNALIST! Allison Camerotta (to her credit IMO) interrupted them saying that there were likely GI's hurt in this incident as well, but no news on them yet....at that point the story went away and faded to something else.
Kudos to Allison!
