Jim Lehrer, on his NewsHour program on PBS on Friday night, ridiculed John Kerry for calling for filibuster from "the ski slopes." Click the link above for the entire transcript. Liberal Mark Shields and conservative columnist David Brooks both joined Lehrer for some Kerry bashing.
This exchange is making left-wing radicals furious, who are now calling Mark Shields a "Republican stooge" and a "Fox News Democrat." One leftist website had this to say to Mark Shields, long time CNN analyst:
"This is the most despicable performance in your long career of pretending to be a Democrat. If you love George Bush with such devotion, then go register as a Republican today. Better yet, pick up a gun and go fight his disastrous war in Iraq. And give your "Democratic" spot on PBS to a REAL Democrat - someone with the cojones to stand up to the Emperor Without Clothes and his mouthpiece, Jim Lehrer!"

David Brooks really isn't a "conservative" either, but I guess he passes for one at the highbrow liberal nutcase NYC cocktail parties.
It's interesting though that I've never heard anyone call him a "Republican."
Why else do you think they are butchering him in the press? The reality is that he's over there for the World Economic Forum, a legitimate event for a US senator to attend (even if I think it's hooey).
The press, the communications wing of the Democrat party, needs to pound Kerry into submission before he can get a footing for the '08 campaign. They hate him. He lost to Bush, who in their eyes is an incompetent imbecile whom a cadaver could have trounced in '04.
Sure, it's fun to see them eat their own, but a Kerry ticket in '08 would be a GOP dream.
Actually the way I saw it was that Lehrer was actually laughing at/with the Bush spokesman who jokingly spoke the line - thought he handled it well and was laughing along.
DON"T tell them that! You do not tell a traitorous, stupid, commie animal who is peeing in his pants that he is standing on a live wire. You pop a beer and watch the show...
Kerry thought "when life hands you a leamon, make koolade"
Liberals in agony...one of my favorite things.
I don't think this is that scary. It will merely triangulate the left into moderate left, extreme left/communist left.
" fleas sneeze"
That you Jessee? That was some fine rhyme.
When I hear that I tell them we can't all leave because otherwise there wouldn't be anyone left to defend the United States against kooks like them.
Applause for your lemonaid/kookaid post.
Actually, Lehrer's NewsHour is generally excellent. They do a synopsis of the day's news, then extended segments on a few timely topics, generally with opposing viewpoints from a several people, plus moderator.
But, then, I'm not afraid of other viewpoints, and I'm not afraid to think.
I found Lehrer's coverage to be the most enlightening of all outlets after the Nov. 2000 election mess. Insight into the constitutional process and historical precedent was thorough and very helpful.
Yes, Lehrer has moonbats on (who are kind of fun to watch) but also very reasonable and knowledgable experts whom you may not see on other channels.
My favorite news, hands down, is Brit Hume's broadcast. But Lehrer runs a close second. I'm not at all surprised at his Kerry remarks.
Ready for the brickbats . . .
"There is no question Kerry is running in 08."
These early efforts from Davos appear to be aimed at discouraging opposition from the left.
Concerned Nader might muck it up, again.
When PBS criticizes Kerry, you know he is a cartoon.
Actually, it appears the rehabilitation of Albert Gore may be underway, at Kerry's expense.
Who you callin' a Stooge, wise guy!
Kerry's posting over at the KOS Asylum is another sign that he is nothing more than a useful idiot pandering for the base of the moonbats.
LOL ping!
REALLY bad news when even your own side is laughing at you.
I concur. I will actually go a step further and state that I think PBS has better and more informative programs than any other broadcast network.
You're right. These wackjobs can't stand the slightest deviation from their rigid leftism. This stuff was mellow jello and sounds a lot like what we get from the Fred Barnes' and Bill Kristol's of the world.
Those DU nuts really are something.
