President Bush is doing an excellent job. He seems on top of his game and very articulate. No stammers or mis-speaks.

Do you remember when Kennedy was misreading a memo on Roberts from years and years before and Roberts told him the beginning sentence and the one following he left out? Then Teddy said he had another memo and Roberts didn't know what he was talking about (noticed because it was the only time), and Specter told him to give him a copy of the letter... Ted hemmed and hawwed and never gave it up... because it never existed. It was unbelievable.

CSPAN is usually good about putting up important stuff. The White House usually takes longer but sometimes they have stuff live.

The blonde said that there was no 'intellectual' debate yesterday.

Well, DUHHHH, lady.

There's no intellect on the left with which to debate! What did you expect with Kennedy, Biden, Leahy and Schumer??

When they were waiting for the President to arrive etc. they were discussing the fact that there was no screening of the audience today. It would be "bipartisan"

Kennedy just wanted to use the word "subpoena" to make things sound very serious. He's a joke.

I was wondering if you really need a subpoena to get paper out of the Library of congress. Shouldn't any senator be able to get them?

The lady in the background is Alito's wife and daughter.

Whoa, we need to cue up Ray Stevens' "I Am My Own Grandpa".

Hillary (reputedly "the smartest woman in the world") had the uh, ah, you know habit of speech before she ever got to the Senate. Those space fillers in her hard as nails voice are not likely to be a plus on the campaign trail in '08....probably why she went on a "listening tour" to get the Senate job.

i'm going nuts! i have a lot to say and if i say anything i'm 30 minutes behind!

I'm like that, with TWO good hands! (Especially on Election Night/SOTU threads) Don't worry, we've got your back. Do what you need to do, and feel better soon, ok?

(P.S. Rush just replayed the exchange of Kennedy and Spector...man I wish I could see that!)

The dembos lost their original talking points/complaints against Alito...'cause Alito is ANSWERING ALMOST ALL ALL ALL OF THEIR QUESTIONS...so now they've had to have others tell them what they can use now...today we've heard it over and over again. Alito is a fast learner...he understands IT DOESN'T MATTER what I DO, they'll find somethin' else.

Senator John Cornyn TOLD ALITO yesterday...this would happen and NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT.

Why is this subpoena necessary?

I'm not sure .. but I think Kennedy needs Rusher's permission to get the records

You know .. like how we need permission to obtain Kerry complete military records

Just a stall and delaying tactic, and a way for the dems to claim that the pubbies are hiding something?

That's what I'm guess .. because I don't see how what someone else thought or wrote has anything to do with Alito

The Kennedy Spectre confrontation today gets funnier and funnier the more times I hear it.

I just hear Rush replay it, and you're right, it is funny. And I think whoever said it's primarily Specter rearing up to protect his chairmanship turf was also correct.
