MILWAUKEE -- It's the latest in a series of mob beatings in Milwaukee.
This time, according to police, at least 15 young people dragged a man out of his car and kicked and punched him -- after the man honked at them to get them to move out of a street.
The beating left the 50-year-old man with severe head trauma. He's hospitalized in critical condition and police said it's not clear if he'll survive.
No arrests have been made.
Three years ago, more than a dozen people chased a man through the streets of Milwaukee and beat him to death with shovel handles, rakes and tree limbs. Most of the attackers were young boys.
And last year, a man with schizophrenia died after being beaten and robbed by a group of assailants. Six teens were charged and one has been convicted.
This is how to become a third world country.

I'm just wondering who's teaching to ride bicycles against traffic, like they're pedestrians or something. That's going to get somebody killed.

it was a hostile place to be..especially with the wrong skin color...
With a whole new generation of gang bangers and thugs on the street these days...

It happens more often than not, in town, where I am. I've ceased being surprised, but I am surprised that more of them haven't been killed.

About the time somebody tried to drag me out of my car, I'm pretty sure I would do just that.

If I get near a big city I swap the 1911A1 for a high capacity nine loaded with 147gr OSM and three spare mags for just the reason mentioned in this article. Albeit I am aware of the ballistics of a 2 ton vehicle doing 30mph being a bit better than a 230gr slug from 45 acp doing +/- 850fps. Guns as taught are a very "last resort" for me.

My thoughts exactly when I read this. I am going to recall this for future reference (& use), that if I am ever in a similar situation, the strategy is.... FLOOR IT & DON'T WORRY ABOUT ANY THUMPS YOU MIGHT HEAR! I would rather have the odds of my SUV vehicle against 15 thugs on foot. The odds cease however if you stop & try to reason with young racist (black or white or any color) thugs to "would you so kindly move? You're blocking my vehicle!" Just floor it and watch them scatter!
You KNOW, because it wasn't stated in the article, that the assailants were black, and the victim was some other race.
Otherwise, it would have been clearly stated.
The day before Christmas Eve, I had to stop at Walmart after work to get a few last minute items. While pulling past the front of the store, 6-8 "black youths" on foot stopped right in the middle of the traffic lane to "chat". After waiting 30 second or so for them to move on, and while several other vehicles backed up on both sides of the chatting "youths", I tapped my horn lightly "beep beep" to encourage them to move along.
You should have heard the foul, racist, and infuriating language directed at me for having the nerve to ask them to get out of the road.
Well, I was just coming off duty (I'm a part-time cop) and was still in uniform. So I got out of my car - instant silence from the "youths". Calmly and politely, I advised the nice young people to "move along before you spend Christmas in jail." Amazing how quickly the street cleared.
I floored it and watched guys go flying in both directions. I didn't have any dings, but I wasn't worried about that anyway.

This need not have happened. I doubt even the Frogs would stand for too much of this. At least without whipping out a white hanky.
