Is a Bush endorsement of McCain enough to sway your opinion?

Posted on 12/04/2005 9:19:56 AM PST by cubram

Some on the morning talk shows suggested that McCain is the natural successor to Bush for his committment to the war, and that Bush will "pass the baton" to him.

My question is: if Bush endorses McCain will you think aboout voting for him? Personally I don't care for McCain for a number of reasons, but if I think he will continue W's legacy, I might reconsider.

What do you think?

Bush endorsing Mc'laim overtly would BE.... (he already DOES support him covertly)

The wolf poking it nose out the sheep skin.. which would cause the sheeple to also notice the wolfs feet poking out the bottom of the sheep skin.. which would scare the sheeple into looking away.. in the hopes some other sheeple would get itself eaten..

The sheep dogs have all been drugged asleep by government checks.. Its not a healthly scene here at the American Flocking Political Scene... not healthly at all..

You keep assuming that she will have unlimited and unchallenged power. She won't.

Even if it means a civil uprising against the government...

Even if that uprising is not successful...

Please, Lord, give us a better choice

There ARE better choices out there--but they are not found in the GOP. It's time for Right-thinking Americans/patriots to start looking ELSEWHERE.

I could see myself voting for McCain, when they airdrop him and Clinton into Serbia, to a crowd of Serbs waiting with ice picks.

Whether Bush endorses McCain or not, my plan is the same. I WILL NOT vote for him in the PRIMARY because he has a nasty habit of shooting his mouth off and undermining other Republicans to get media attention. However, I WILL vote for him in the GENERAL election because his VOTING record is 80% conservative so he's with us when it counts.

Please note that "RINO" John McCain votes 20 points to the RIGHT of "conservative" Zell Miller. If you're ready to beat down the door to vote for a guy for President who votes the "right" way 65% of the time, then you should have no problem electing a President who votes the "right" way 84% of the time.

No...and anyone Bush endorses I will probably not vote for.

Bush's fialure to control immigration and enforce our laws prevents me from accepting any endorsement from him.

Yes. Yes it is.

A Bush endorsement for McCain convinces me to cast my vote elsewhere.

(Actually, ANY endorsement of McVain convinces me to cast me vote elsewhere)

>> Sitting presidents by tradition DO NOT PUBLICLY ENDORSE any candidate until the nomination is assured. <<

Truman endorsed Stevenson in the primaries. It really pissed off his sitting V.P., Alben Barkley, who had to drop out of the race because his campaign was DOA after that.

The primaries are going to tell the story. I don't want McCain, but to think that some here would prefer Hillary is truly bizarre. We fought Clinton for eight years. We see the damage he did and is still doing. Hillary really is Satan's daughter.

And???? So what?

Knowing the unnamed "some on the morning talk shows" would provide context for the topic.

I'm not trying to defend McCain, but I thought I heard him say some time ago that he is pro-life. Has he changed his mind recently, or what?

I despise McCain for many reasons, one of which was when he insulted Pat Buchanan when Pat left the GOP by saying "Thank God & Greyhound he's gone"....as well as his being a Drug Warrior & a CFR member.

Who stopped them from taking Chinese money? Who stopped them from allowing the sale of missile technology to China? Who has made her account for the largest campaign finance fraud ever in 2000? Who has made her account for IRS audits. No one has and no one will. If she doesn't scare you, that's fine.

After impeachment failed, yes, she will have unlimited power. Who is going to stop her? Civil uprising? Come on.

There IS a lesser of 2 evils here.

REALLY!!?? As much as I detest HRC, she didn't write and push Campaign Finance Reform through the Congress to stifle our First Amendment rights. McCain did.

IMO, both McCain and HRC are non-starters.

Yeah, it will take a lot of prayer. I'm liking Tancredo, Newt, and Condi right now. We needed W for the Second Ammendment, foreign policy and taxes -and then we had to bust his balls to get Alito. Now we need to curb the spending, stop the illegal immigration, and continue W's foreign policy. IMHO

>> McCain/Feingold CFR... Why would anyone vote for a co-sponsor of one of the most Anti-Free Speech, Anti-Average Joe, Un-American and Un-Constitutional turds disquised as legislation for Commander-in-Chief? Hmmmm? <<

Zell Miller sez:

"That's a good question. I have ALWAYS been a HUGE fan of McCain-Feingold and proudly helped enact that bill, and freepers give me a free pass on that because I give folksy southern pro-Bush speeches. I suggest Senator McCain move to Texas, put a "D" next to his name, give folksy anti-Democrat speeches, and call himself a "conservative Democrat". Then folks won't CARE about his position on campaign finance reform, hate crimes, or anything else! They'll beat down the door to endorse him for President! Hell, worked for me!"

Hillary really is Satan's daughter.

What if McCain is really Satan's son? Should we just go ahead and vote for him since he is running as a Republican?
