Some on the morning talk shows suggested that McCain is the natural successor to Bush for his committment to the war, and that Bush will "pass the baton" to him.
My question is: if Bush endorses McCain will you think aboout voting for him? Personally I don't care for McCain for a number of reasons, but if I think he will continue W's legacy, I might reconsider.
What do you think?
That whole mess certainly didn't help him, but more than any other reason, conservatives won't support him because of President Bush! Papa Bush is a globalist and he raised the boys to be just like him. President Bush is NO conservative. I suspect Jeb would be just like him, or perhaps even worse. We simply cannot take the chance on another RINO. We've got to get Tancredo to run in 08. He's the only one who has name recognition because of his stand on illegals and Muslims. We NEED him.

What makes you think that he is a conservative?
I've seen no evidence whatsoever. Anything that he may have done correctly was likely borne of political expediency, not conviction.
He thinks that there is a government solution to everything including speaking badly of the government. That alone should disqualify him.
Reagan did not endorse Bush 41 during the primaries.
Klintoon did not endorse Algore during the primaries (and didn't really campaign for him after the official nomination).
Obviously, Bush will support whoever the GOP nominee is in 2008. What you need to remember is the only ones who are pushing the McCain candidacy are the media leftists, I think and I hope that George Allen will be the nominee.

So, as someone on this board who does seem to have some connections or sway (was that you on Hannity last week?), perhaps you could drop the "greater of two evils" pitch and make sure the powers that be at the RNC get it through their thick skulls that McCain is a dead end. Remember, a McCain nomination is not a fait accompli - it can be stopped before the RNC forces people to choose principles over party.

I can't do the lessor of two evils thing anymore, but even if we were to play that game, who is to say that an egomaniac like McCain isn't more dangerous to our liberties. I would think (and hope) that a GOP congress would stop her at least as much as they did her HINO.
One thing for sure, the right was much more united and vigilant against clinton. Bush has divided us and there has been a lot of garbage that became law under him that would have never become law under clinton.

For example, how many members in the GOP Establishment are serious in their criticism of Socialist Security? Controlling our borders? Getting US out of the UN? Supporting the 9th & 10th Amendments? Reducing the size of the federal government to its limited, written constitutional functions? Controlling the appeallate jurisdiction of the courts? Repealing the 16th & 17th Amendments? Recognizing that America is a REPUBLIC & not a democracy? Etc. etc., etc.
