..maybe Arnold's strategy is like launching an ICBM with MERVs. The other side shoots most of them down but one gets through--BOOM!

Tucson is a neat city. My hubby lived there for seven years before we met. There are quite a few Fresnans there for some reason. It's a lot more liveable than Phoenix, if a bit more liberal (the congressman is a crazy Dem).

To be honest Torie, it's been rather tough for folks to figure some of these measures out. You may be right about the breakdown, but I think the unions were able to deamonize Schwarzenegger and some of these initiatives do bad, that even some from the right side of the isle crossed over to vote against.

My step dad was in a Union for years. He isn't a bit surprised that 75 is passing. He said most of the members hate the Union leadership. He said they are all crooked, line their own pockets first. It's finally catching up with them.

Thanks. That's an interesting take, and probably true.

We make all the noise we can! I don't know how the Yuba County props are doing, but try the Secretary of State site - the live webaddress is somewhere on this thread. And good luck on Measure G!

A mixed bag in today votes. The absentees are in most everywhere. SF is in, Marin is in, Fresno is largely in, a lot from Riverside, nothing from liberal Alameda, some but not a lot from San Diego, nothing from Orange, nothing from LA. All roads lead to LA. That is why 73 and 75 are very much up in the air. I do see a Hispanic effect on 73.

Whoa. The rest of SLO came in, and was quite a bit more liberal than the earlier votes. Not a good sign.

I'm surprised 73 would fail there.

I was referring to his previously high approval rating in the 60s, after he started taking on the unions is when his approval rating began to fall.

I believe the current reported numbers are for absentees. Abstentees are not precincts, which is why it continues to say that zero (0) LA County precincts have reported. The (current) total numbers haven't changed in the past hour, which reflects that "in-person" precincts haven't reported yet. This is not good, because the slightly favorable current numbers in LA County will shift negative once the "in-person" votes are counted. Don't count on Prop 75 to stick at 51% in favor in LA County.

Freepers should note that a fairly uncontroversial conservative value for most of the USA (and even in fairly liberal areas) is very controversial in California, and at this point has a decent shot at losing.

Disgraceful.

OMG. California should move to Europe! What are they thinking? Imagine the state their kids will have to grow up in.
I don't know the areas in Ca., but I sure hope there's a few good people left who could turn this atrocity around.

And I'm not sure it will remain so. Well, the left bought this election via the unions. There's not much else to say IMO.
