My Fellow FReepers,
As it now past midnight (well at least for those of us in Central Standard Time) and I did a general search and couldn't find a single thread dedicated to election 2005, I have taken the liberty of creating one.
THIS is the place to post all your updates and discussions on '05 races around the country. From the Boston Mayoral Race to the fight for Virginia Attorney General, keep the adrenaline flowing here.
Will the GOP make a midterm gubernatorial comeback after suffering through the 2001 "mistakes" of McGreeley and Mark Warner? Will Ahnuld, the CA Dummycrats, or independent minded conservatives emerge triumph in California's latest (but not greatest!) "special election"? Will the liberal incumbent crush his equally liberal challenger in New York? And do conservatives even care?
Let's get the discussion rolling folks. You heard it here first!

See, how you're just being a jerk. I was asking a question based on your name, and you have to act like a 10 year old tossing a personal insult instead of responding. The only disconnect here is the disconnect between you and the ability to be a grown up and be respectful to someone who disagrees with you and doesn't fold.
You're officially not wortht my time responding to anymore. Have a good one.

she is going to lose the south anyway. she either needs Ohio, or some combination of states out west where Hispanic voters are strong - hence the Richardson choice. our side needs to counter by winning back midwest state, I believe we were close in 2004 in Wisconsin? I forget the map now.

Think he'll pick the Torch or does Lautenberg have a sibling?

This is a night of the status quo, as far as I can tell. One creepy Democrat replaces another in New Jersey. One mediocre Democrat replaces another in Virginia (Warner was D, no?). Ohio election laws remain the same. Marriage is still heterosexual in Texas.
Based on all that, I'd say the governator's agenda for change is going to take a beating in Cauli-fornia.

half of that NYS bond money will go to upstate NY - building more roads in locales that people are moving out of in droves in central and western NYS. I guess the MTA can use the rest to keep a third set of books.

As I told you earlier I know very well that I had these arguments with you last year about your wrong predictions that President Bush was going to lose. I do not have time to go back and search hundreds if not thousands of posts under your name to show you what you said.

I don't see any reason for you to change your prediction...I am just hoping that Hillary doesn't get far enough in the primaries to even have the need to choose a running mate...LOL

California voter checking in. Just got back a little while ago. After noticing that there was no polling place listed on my sample ballot (
this is the first time that section was left blank), I called Republican headquarters. They had no information as to what I should do about this, and didn't seem the least bit concerned . I then called the Registrar of voters. They gave me an address to go to.
I ended up voting out of my precinct, on a provisional ballot , written in Chinese.(The guy at the polling place said several people had come in with the same no-polling-place-adress-on-the-ballott, and that somebody must have "screwed up").
The only thing I've heard about this election is that turnout is around 42 percent. That seems like a good turn out for this place?
I voted for all of Ahnold's measures and "No" on 78-80. I guess the exit poll thingy's are saying Ahnold's measures failed, but who knows in this looney bin of a state. We probably won't have results for a while.

speculating. I don't think Corzine will "diss" Menendez, so if he gives his seat to Codey, he will play another card.
To: Petronski
Wait and see on CA. I can't imagine the abortion notification ballot losing, even in lib Cali.
Staus quo it is.

That was so far from a legitimate election to get Lautenburg in it's ridiculous. That was NO election. It was a typical NJ hose job. Agree the Dems switched the candidates illegally, but there was an election in NJ and Lautenberg won. Didn't the GOP take this issue to court and lose the decision, which enabled the Dems to annoint Lautenberg?

Thanks for the update.
I was hoping for a scorecard. One thing to add: it appears VA may have a GOP Lt. Gov, which is a gain (and should prove for some interesting times.)
What's on the plate for CA? They're the last of national interest, right?
