I believe that France is reaping the reward of their own foolishness, and I am HAPPY to fight the next battle in the Crusades on THEIR turf instead of ours.
That said, I do not think they DESERVE this violence...especially the French people as compared to their criminal, socialist government.

I don't know much about French things but I sure know that nobody "blue" up the Empire State Building.

France has been anywhere from neutral to enemy in this war. If the Islamists remove them as a power of influence, then that's a major roadblock to effective warfighting gone.

The sources state that those rioters are mostly or all, Muslim. So, France has reaped the whirlwind, because they are so open to the Muslim immigrants, as so is the rest of Euope. So, yes, President Bush would do well to stop the influx from south and north and wherever it is coming, but he and them are very happy to add illegals and "students" from the far east, just because something in their agendas call for it.

Wrong on two, make that three counts...and that doesn't include the fact that France has not come close to being an enemy in the WOT.
France's refusal to back our Iraq play has done nothing to alter it's course or effectiveness. We don't need their bases, troops, logistical support, etc...
France is actually the most strident country in the west (including USA) in its anti-terror legislation and local enforcement.
If the islamists cause a change of government, essentially a coup, the result would be an emboldened western-based muslim population (UK-Germany-Canada etc) as opposed to a chastised and temporarily defanged one. That would be creating a larger impediment than France has proven to be.

Take a look at how much the average Frenchmen pays in taxes ON A PER CAPITA BASIS, and then you will see that it costs more PER CAPITA than the welfare state in the U.S.

Politicians and agendas. It takes so little to destroy the Republic and these two items are doing a great job of doing it quickly.

Between their UN shenanigans, the Oil-for-Food scandal, refusal to conduct assigned NATO missions in Afghanistan, complicity in the forged Niger document scandal, material assistance to enemy regimes such as Syria and Iran, and general anti-US behavior in all spheres of activity, saying that France is not an enemy makes me wonder what your definition of the word "enemy" is.
The only reason they've been hardcore in their local anti-terror enforcement is for their own best interests. It has nothing to do with any loyalty to the rest of Western civilization. And when you factor in their behavior in constructing these Islamic ghettoes all over their country, it's hard to say that even their local activity is a net plus.
I would like to see the Islamists think they have the chance to do to other countries what they are doing to France, because provoking a backlash is the necessary spark for other countries to act. Just as their overreach on 9/11 turned out to be a fatal error, so will their overreach in thinking they can do in all of Europe what they are doing in France.
The slow-boil only works to our enemies' advantage. Open combat is to our advantage. So let's have the battle sooner rather than later.

The net cost to us, ladies and gentlemen, is $380 billion a year. Thats just for the benefit programs, the education, the hospitalization, food stamps, Section 8 subsidies, rent subsidies, mortgage subsidies, etc.
There are *lots* of other costs involved on top of this.

France is not getting what it deserves, no...
France is getting what it has asked for.

France is getting what inevitably follows multiculturalism. If by allowing unlimited hordes of barbarians into the country then that country "deserves" what has occurred throughout history.
"Warm and Fuzzy," and "I am the World," sounds good until it runs up against human nature. Then we have what we are seeing in France. President Bush, call your office!

I know this is your issue, but we must not forget that the real problem is the welfare state. California's generous social welfare state is as much a problem as is illegal immigration.
Again, the majority of folks in our prisons are native born, as are our welfare receipients. Go to any housing project in New York or Chicago, and you will not see many immigrants. They are all living 10 to a room and paying $400 a month, the way it should be.
