Because I like to believe Bush promotes women in his administration... Sheesh.
What are you doing on this website?
Real conservatives promote people based upon their qualifications - and leave sex out of it.
We do not need another so-called conservative promoting a femnist agenda.

"Don't forget DeWine and Voinovich!" Done. ....and I'll try my best not to make Voinovich cry.

So you agree that there are NO qualified women suitable for the SC?
To: Cboldt; AFPhys
But you are trying to deny the President his prerogative to nominate and withdraw at will.I just love all the revisionism going on here. Cboldt, it was just a week ago that you and many others were demanding right of first refusal on the President's judicial nominees. Or, to put it another way, you wanted to do the nominating and just have him follow along.
Well, you got one of the names on the approved short list handed down from your high priests and priestesses. You're going to have the fight you all claim you wanted. But are you really going to fight or just sit around here on FR revising your own past actions?

And you believe choosing a woman is "promoting a feminist agenda"? In what way?
To: kcvl
Too good to be true - this must be a trick!

Any way to keep the outline of the gavel but cloud it in shadow? I'll give it a shot. I'll update the file and upload it again so the pic in reply #1148 will be updated. You'll need to clear your browser cache.

I don't pay much attention to the ranch stuff, but not so long ago, the NY attorney General Spritzer (sp) began an investigation of the Imus' ranch, but very quickly it ended with Imus getting a letter of apology from the NY AG. I think I'm describing what happened accurately, at least as Imus described it.

Then defeat her on the Senate floor vote.
That was the only way to preserve the integrity of The Constitution.

"As far as many conversatives thinking of Janice Rogers Brown as their personal choice, I do wonder what precluded her being picked?....."
Bush is really the past, if you think about it. I won't be supporting any 2008 primary candidate who doesn't put people like Brown on his/her short list. We need to help shape the next primary. FRegards....

Unfortunately there is no law against being intellectually dishonest, so the pundits' words will be used against them by the Dem's and will have to be convincingly answered. If saying so makes me "intellectually dishonest" or shows a "sad inability to reason properly", then so be it. Unthinking Bushbot that I am, I choose to support Alito now. Your task is to convince enough other people to support him. Calling them dishonest or stupid may not help. They may not immediately make the distinctions you make and may want to know why there is any real difference between the pundits' positions on Miers and Alito.

I would sure like to see ginsburg and stevens retire the coming year. With all the stink the democrats raised over o'conner retiring and Chief Justice Renquist passing away, can you even imagine how shrill and venomous and hate filled they will get when stevens and/or ginsburg retire, and Bush puts up a real constructionist conservative nominee to replace them? That's such a radical swing in the SC it has maybe happened only one or two times in our lifetime. Scalia and Thomas really are the only times it has been such a big single seat swing back to tradtional Constitutional values. This will be VERY VERY FUN!!!
