UNION THUGS attack Schwarzenegger supporter at Villarogosa rally in Los Angeles - VIDEO!!!

Here is aan e-mail that I just received:

Genvieve Peters (no relation), who I recruited for the LA bus tour team, is certifiably insane and brings new meaning to the phrase "earned media". Forget about the baloney delivery stunt, this one clearly takes the cake.

When David Pegos tried to stage a counter protest today at the Latino union rally with Nunez and Villaraigosa in Downtown LA I put him in touch with Genvieve. She showed up in her red Arnold t-shirt with her signs ALL ALONE. Instead of going home (which I would have told her to do if the lunatic had called me), she quietly made her way into the middle of the crowd and positioned herself in front of the podium.

When Villarogosa finished speaking, she spun around and waived her "YES on 74-77" signs for the cameras. The media converged on her. The union thugs converged on her.

As the media asked her why she was there, the thugs started hitting her over the head with their "no" signs, tearing up her signs and pouring water on her as she loudly proclaimed to the cameras that she was there because she used to be a teacher in an ESL class and she knows that the children of all these wonderful hardworking people deserve a better education and their unions are lying to them!!!

The media ate it up. She was interviewed by Channels 2 & 9 as well as by the Spanish media. The thugs kept complaining that she was stealing their news coverage. Luckily one very kind (and quite large) union member escorted her to her car - all the while flashing gang signs at his fellow union members warning them to back off. Thank God she's home safe and sound. I'm buying her dinner (right after I stop screaming at her for taking her life in her hands)!

California Republican Party Press Release:

Public employee union activists showed the utter hypocrisy of their campaign against the special election initiatives on Thursday at a rally in LA’s Pershing Square.

While $115 million has been spent by public employee unions to oppose the reform initiatives and promote a message that the voices of their members will be silenced if Prop 75 passes, an angry mob of dues paying union members showed what little respect they have for free speech by physically attacking a woman who spoke out in support of the governor’s reform initiatives.

“A single Schwarzenegger supporter struggles to hold her ground in a rally against the governor’s special election initiatives. Opponents tried to hit her with their signs and some blocked news cameras as she argued her point. The crowd turns quickly, grabbing her signs and tearing them up. Even a woman wearing an orange security vest rips up the “Vote Yes” signs.

Two Los Angeles television stations caught on tape a hyped up mob of union activists intimidating and roughing up a woman who had the courage to speak out in favor of the four reform initiatives.

Whipping the crowd into a frenzy was none other than Speaker Fabian Nunez, who was a featured speaker at the rally in Pershing Square. At the very least, Nunez – a former union organizer himself – has a duty to issue a public apology to this woman on behalf the union bosses who control him. That is, unless the Speaker believes that violence and thuggery are acceptable forms of public expression.

UNION THUGS UNHINGED

Check out this video of not-so-peaceful union protesters in California--here (via the California Republican Party) and at The Political Teen--mobbing a lone pro-Schwarzenegger woman on Thursday who supports union reform initiatives on next week's ballot.

Even the "security guard" (that's her in the photo below in the middle of the screen with the orange vest) piled on and helped ripped up the poor woman's signs.

I'm sure if it were the other way around, the national network news shows would be running the full video near the top of their broadcasts. But who needs 'em anymore?

The California Conservative has the story covered.

Local KCAL9 reporter Carter Evans in Los Angeles:

Opponents tried to hit her with their signs, and some blocked news cameras as she argued her point. The crowd turns quickly, grabbing her signs and tearing them up, even a woman wearing an orange security vest angrily rips up the Vote Yes signs.

Lonewacko notes:

Someone wearing a 'Unite Here' T-shirt reaches down from the stage and grabs the victim's cap off, and she has to reach back to grab it back. And, I saw at least one person put her hands on the victim.

So there we have it in living color: the unhinged union Left's whatever-it-takes protectionism. "Whatever" meaning pushing. Shoving. Destroying property.
Squelching free speech. And intimidating women.

The California Republican Party writes:

While $115 million has been spent by public employee unions to oppose the reform initiatives and promote a message that the voices of their members will be silenced if Prop 75 passes, an angry mob of dues paying union members showed what little respect they have for free speech by physically attacking a woman who spoke out in support of the governor’s reform initiatives.

Call Speaker Fabian Nunez’s office today and DEMAND THAT HE ISSUE A PUBLIC APOLOGY TO GENEVIEVE PETERS.

Union Mob Strongarms A Single Schwarzenegger Supporter

Union Thugs Attack
Freedom of speech according to special interests.

A single Schwarzenegger supporter struggles to hold her ground in a rally against the governor’s special election initiatives. Opponents tried to hit her with their signs and some blocked news cameras as she argued her point. The crowd turns quickly, grabbing her signs and tearing them up. Even a woman wearing an orange security vest rips up the “Vote Yes” signs.” (CBS 2 News, October 28, 2005)

See the video here, and here.

Since CBS News provides the report, we decided to do a search of their website for “schwarzenegger” and were surprised by what it yielded: not the stories (only two), but the ads. We discovered an anti-Prop. 75 link, titled “Arnold Wants to Silence Californians,” sponsored by the AFL-CIO.

Upon clicking the link, we are brought to the union’s site and a promotional page that declares:

Don’t Let Arnold Silence You—Take Action Now to Stop Prop. 75

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his corporate backers are tired of unions getting in the way each time they try to cut funds for our schools, hospitals, health care, infrastructure and public safety. The whole point of Proposition 75 is to shut us up and get us out of their way.”

They must be projecting. Because it sure looks like that’s exactly what they were doing to the woman in the video.

“Public employee union activists showed the utter hypocrisy of their campaign against the special election initiatives on Thursday at a rally in LA’s Pershing Square,” reports CC4Truth.

While $115 million has been spent by public employee unions to oppose the reform initiatives and promote a message that the voices of their members will be silenced if Prop. 75 passes, an angry mob of dues paying union members showed what little respect they have for free speech.

That is, unless the Speaker believes that violence and thuggery are acceptable forms of public expression.

With every call to action, the unions are desperately trying to rally the troops and confuse the public. Same strategy as always.

We hope California voters know better.

I hate unions.
I have had confrontations with them and after much discussion (hA!!) they reply with you do not understand because you are white.
I really do not get what that is supposed to mean but after all they are just union people.

From lonewacko.com:
True face of Democratic Party: union thugs attack woman at anti-Arnold rally

Yesterday the anti-Arnold forces held a rally in downtown Los Angeles. It featured Antonio Villaraigosa, Fabian Nunez, and, in the crowd, lots of union members and one lone Arnold supporter.

- - > Read the report in "UNION THUGS attack Schwarzenegger supporter at Villarogosa rally in Los Angeles - VIDEO!!!".

The video is of a KCAL report from Carter Evans, and it's available in this 10 Meg WMV file.

If you're on the fence, or you're a reasonable person but you oppose Arnold's propositions for some reason, you need to see this video.

From the reporter's voiceover:

Opponents tried to hit her with their signs, and some blocked news cameras as she argued her point. The crowd turns quickly, grabbing her signs and tearing them up, even a woman wearing an orange security vest angrily rips up the Vote Yes signs.

Someone wearing a 'Unite Here' T-shirt reaches down from the stage and grabs the victim's cap off, and she has to reach back to grab it back. And, I saw at least one person put her hands on the victim. The victim is white, and the security person mentioned above is black. But, almost everyone else surrounding her was Hispanic.

Hopefully she'll file a police complaint about the possible assault and, while I'm extremely doubtful, perhaps it could even be prosecuted as a hate crime.

This is the face of the California Democratic Party and the opposition to Arnold Schwarzenegger, and it is not a pretty sight at all.

UPDATE: There's a press release on this assault from the California Republican Party here.

For more, see my collection of links on the Special Election.

UPDATE 2: Now linked by the COTB.

California Special Election Watch:
Does California Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez Support Violence and Thuggery?

Posted by Flap at the FullosseousFlap's Dental Blog

CBS Channel 2 and KCAL News Los Angeles television Channel Nine has this video clip depicting a single Schwarzenegger supporter (Genevieve Peters) struggling to hold her ground in a rally against the governor’s special election initiatives. The rally was held at Los Angeles Pershing Square yesterday. Schwarzenegger opponents tried to hit her with their signs, tried to steal her hat and some blocked news cameras as she argued her point. The crowd turns quickly, grabbing her signs and tearing them up. Even a woman wearing an orange security vest rips up the “Vote Yes” signs.” (CBS 2 News, October 28, 2005).

Check out the video clip here.

Check out the thugs as they assault Ms. Peters.

Now, California Assembly Speaker earlier had whipped up the union crowd to a frenzy. As a former union organizer shouldn't he know better and urge restraint?

Shouldn't he now APOLOGIZE to Ms. Peters on behalf of the UNION THUGS that control him?

Call his office and let him now how you feel! Remind the Speaker this is America and not a third world country - violence is not acceptable for political dissent.

Sacramento Office: (916) 319-2046

Los Angeles Office: (213) 620-4646

Flap knows you will be glad you did.

More Union Thuggery - Fascism in Los Angeles

Genevieve Peters is passionate about the California she remembers - before Gray Davis and runaway spending; before Enron and the energy scandals; before the huge influx of illegal aliens draining the resources of the State; before the public employee unions became so powerful that they now run the State and call the shots to their Democratic puppets in the State Legislature. Genevieve believes that the Governor's reform initiatives will help to bring California back to that time.

When she heard that the Speaker of the California State Assembly, Fabian Nunez, was going to be addressing a group of public employee union members from Unite Here about the initiatives on the November 8th ballot, her thought was that the union is lying to its members about the real meaning of Propositions 74 through 77, and, in particular Proposition 75 which requires unions to get the consent of its members before using political action contributions by the members for political activities. She decided to go to the assembly and let her position be known - that it is in the interests of individual union members to support Proposition 75.

This is the United States of America, right? This is the land of the First Amendment where free speech is tolerated no matter what the message, right? Well, not as far as unions are concerned.

Two Los Angeles television stations caught on tape a hyped up mob of union activists intimidating and roughing up Genevieve - who had the courage to speak out in favor of the four reform initiatives.

While $115 million has been spent by public employee unions to oppose the reform initiatives and promote the false message that the voices of their members will be silenced if Prop 75 passes, an angry mob of dues paying union members showed what little respect they have for free speech by physically attacking a woman who spoke out in support of the governor’s reform initiatives.

If you think that I am exaggerating the thuggery and fascism exhibited by union members, you can view the news coverage for yourself here.

Union bosses in California have way too much power. The unions are fascist organizations not permitting dissent or opposing opinions. For union thugs to turn on a single defenseless woman who was only expressing her political opinion - a right guaranteed to her by the Constitution - is typical of their willingness to physically punish anyone who has a dissenting opinion.

Most disappointing is the fact that Speaker Nunez did nothing to stop the violence and attack on Genevieve. At the very least, Nunez – a former union organizer himself – has a duty to issue a public apology to this woman on behalf of the union bosses who control him. That is, unless the Speaker believes that violence and thuggery are acceptable forms of public expression.

I hope that Speaker Nunez will send his apologies forthwith to Genevieve. I think it is too much to ask that the union leaders do the same. I am sure they don't think there is anything wrong with intimidating a woman with violence if she opposes their point of view.

THANK YOU, Tom Jefferson!

Before taxes, every L.A. County employee contributed 10 percent of their gross salary into the pension fund. No taxpayer monies were involved, not even to manage the fund.

CORRECTION: AFTER taxes ....

Taxes were paid on the gross salary, then 10 percent was deducted.

Today's (10/29/05) Arizona Republic article, Associated Press by Beth Fouhy:

Long Beach, Calif. - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is complaining that California's Democrats and union bosses are standing in the way of government reform and want to destroy me.

The remarks came less than two weeks before the voters decide on a set of Schwarzenegger-backed ballot measures that could undercut the power of public employee unions and the Democratic-controlled Legislature.

"I want to move things forward and ... they want to destroy me," the Republican governor said in an interview Thursday. "It's a self-serving government that's all about them rather than serving the people, and it's wrong."

As an example, he blamed Democrats' close ties to labor for the failure of a bill that would have offered subsidies to building owners who installed solar panels.

Democrats insisted on a provision requiring electricians to be paid prevailing wages.

"Never one single time during those negotiations did anyone on the other side say, 'This is good for the people, this is good for the environment,'" Schwarzenegger said. "No one talked about any of this. It was all, 'No, we want prevailing wage.'"

Well, yeah, most people want to earn the prevailing wage.

However, the writer manages to avoid further clarification of what the battle is really about - key words: ... undercut the power of public employee unions ...

Why? Because trillions of dollars of employee pension contributions would pull California out of the financial hole residents have allowed the Legislature to put them in!

The problem is, every public servant pensioner would have to take a cut so as to financially prop up the state's welfare system. Much of California's cities have fewer taxpayers than welfare recipients.

Don't tell me that any of you think that's fair, or would sit quietly by and allow their own money to be swallowed up this way, because I won't believe you....unless maybe you're one of those who thought Enron's CEOs did the right thing.

Any typos are mine.

... financially prop up the state's welfare system.

Not only the welfare system, but to save bankrupt public employee unions such as in San Diego, who did not take a look at what was working in other counties - what was thriving for decades!

Buena Park P.D. went for the State pension and I wonder how healthy that is, overall? Start thinking the prisons' personnel, juveniles and the Youth Authority ("Country Club"), Highway Patrol ....
