Here is aan e-mail that I just received:
Genvieve Peters (no relation), who I recruited for the LA bus tour team, is certifiably insane and brings new meaning to the phrase "earned media". Forget about the baloney delivery stunt, this one clearly takes the cake. When David Pegos tried to stage a counter protest today at the Latino union rally with Nunez and Villaraigosa in Downtown LA I put him in touch with Genvieve. She showed up in her red Arnold t-shirt with her signs ALL ALONE. Instead of going home (which I would have told her to do if the lunatic had called me), she quietly made her way into the middle of the crowd and positioned herself in front of the podium.
When Villarogosa finished speaking, she spun around and waived her "YES on 74-77" signs for the cameras. The media converged on her. The union thugs converged on her.
As the media asked her why she was there, the thugs started hitting her over the head with their "no" signs, tearing up her signs and pouring water on her as she loudly proclaimed to the cameras that she was there because she used to be a teacher in an ESL class and she knows that the children of all these wonderful hardworking people deserve a better education and their unions are lying to them!!!
The media ate it up. She was interviewed by Channels 2 & 9 as well as by the Spanish media. The thugs kept complaining that she was stealing their news coverage. Luckily one very kind (and quite large) union member escorted her to her car - all the while flashing gang signs at his fellow union members warning them to back off. Thank God she's home safe and sound. I'm buying her dinner (right after I stop screaming at her for taking her life in her hands)!

These communists deserve to live under communism, preferably North Korea.
The brave woman clearly has more intelligence and character than any of the union/DU miscreants.
These unions only exist to empower the bosses and their political allies.
RonDog! That was awesome footage,That is a GREAT idea!mind if I post it on GOPatUCR.com?
Go for it!
I remember Genevive from the Ann Coulter event,We only had a few hours notice, and I was nowhere near my computer when she called me. :(why is she out there doing this singlehandedly?
(not that she couldn't, but the college republicans want to have some fun as well).
Fortunately, there is ALWAYS a "next time."
(I BELIEVE CONGRESSMAN WELDON!!!) ping!
Hope you're still doing Great Things :-).I have. :o)
Recently, I helped to promote THIS event:

FWIW, YOU helped me to realize the power of VIDEO -- to document the truth as WE see it. :o)
Don't these union members realize how much damage they are doing to their cause by acting like spoiled rotten children; or better yet, slaves and robots?
One of the propositions is not popular (don't recall the number) - has to do with State confiscation of civil service pension funds that were NOT funded by taxpayer monies. Through sound investments of employees' contributions to their own accounts, over many, many years, L.A. County Employees' Union pension funds are worth trillions of dollars now.
Other counties, such as Ventura, used the same system. The ones who didn't, such as San Diego, are bankrupt.
Arnold and Company need to understand this is not their money to use to solve California's idiotic welfare system that inept, spendthrift, and downright dishonest legislators created
There are unions, and then there are other unions. With due respect, I don't believe you folks are thoroughly informed on the full scope of Schwarzenegger's tactics here, and what he is actually after.
Oh Randy - forgive me - I didn't remember who started it - I just thought it was a very clever idea.
I live here - I know what he's after.
But .. what do you think it is that he's after ..??
Arnie is after the pension funds. We receive newsletters every month on his scheme.
Before taxes, every L.A. County employee contributed 10 percent of their gross salary into the pension fund. No taxpayer monies were involved, not even to manage the fund.
You say you know what he's after....??? Tell me.
Well, then, how about you explain it all to us in civilized fashion, and don't gloss over the prickly details. Differentiate yourself from these goons and engage the debate with all due respect.
We know Prop 75 forces Unions to get opt-IN permission from members before being allowed to utilize any of said members dues for political purposes. No right-minded person has a problem with that. But action like this video shows just PROVES the suspected stereotype all the hell over again, thet the mob at that rally was a little bit short on right-minded people, that Prop 75 is going to take political blood money away from corrupt union bosses, and they and their lackeys are willing to get criminal to try and stop it.
The unions want respect? They're going to have to start ACTING respectably. Walk the talk, you Philistine Bozos, or get the Hell outta Dodge!
Now, you come on and be up front with all the really overriding factually-based non-hype reasons that fair-minded folks oughta vote "NO" on 75. Seriously. If you can think of even ONE GOOD reason, out with it; we're all ea..., uh, eyes.
Well .. pensions is not the only thing that is helping to bankrupt the state. It's also the 37% wage increase one union membership received - which was a perk from Davis to assure they would vote for him.
Unions did a lot of good - initially. Now .. they are pricing the American worker out of the job market. Add to that the employer's cost for medical, pension, environmental, and there is very little profit left.
After all .. people are in business to make a PROFIT. But that has somehow become a dirty word and if a company makes a profit they are immediately branded as greedy. But .. without that profit they cannot expand and hire more workers.
I'm not in favor of unions. I never have been. Employers today don't force their employees to work in sweat shops - that's all been done away with. But .. when you have a person standing on a line .. placing a flyer in a vehicle and that person is making $20/hr - that's outrageous - and that doesn't include benefits which makes that person way too expensive for the job their doing.
The unions keep demanding more wages and more benefits. Where is it going to stop?
L.A. County Employee Union members are not a part of the "activism" that is cited here. Schwarzenegger (& media) is using one segment of unions to give a bad name to all of them.
In this case, I think L.A. County's union does serve a good purpose. The only other union I'm familiar with is the Teamsters - a bunch of thieves and, yes, thugs.
I'd agree as far as the fact that 99% of the union guys I know are solid, principled, faimly men who always give 100% on the job and put it on the table for their wives and kids; entirely UNLIKE the mob in this video. My brother's LACoFD and he sees it all from the inside and most of the guys are nothing like the mob in the video.
But, what I ALSO know is that the union guys I know that aren't Democrat voters take extreme exception to the ability that unions have to use member's dues money to promote candidates and ballot measures that they'd never vote for.
Even if THEIR union ISN'T doing it, the feeling is that, since they COULD, it'll only be a matter of time before they WILL.
These guys are saying, "Screw THAT!" If there's a candidate that needs support or opposition because his candidacy affects union jobs, these guys want to be able to put the money on the table themselves to help elect or defeat that candidate, not have the union boss do it for them. Likewise for ballot measures.
The bottom line is that union members deserve to have the freedom that everyone else has; to decide as individuals what candidates and causes they want to support monetarily, and Prop 75 makes that a reality.
Once this passes, if the union boss wants to use dues money for political purposes, he's got to get permission from members, first, and most members are going to say, "No thanks, I'll decide for myself." So, the bosses are lining up the goons to fight this, because they're about to get politically neutered. 'Bout damned time, too.
Union activists caught on film attacking woman: Speaker Nunez owes her a public apology
Public employee union activists showed the utter hypocrisy of their campaign against the special election initiatives on Thursday at a rally in LA’s Pershing Square.
While $115 million has been spent by public employee unions to oppose the reform initiatives and promote a message that the voices of their members will be silenced if Prop 75 passes, an angry mob of dues paying union members showed what little respect they have for free speech by physically attacking a woman who spoke out in support of the governor’s reform initiatives.
“A single Schwarzenegger supporter struggles to hold her ground in a rally against the governor’s special election initiatives. Opponents tried to hit her with their signs and some blocked news cameras as she argued her point. The crowd turns quickly, grabbing her signs and tearing them up. Even a woman wearing an orange security vest rips up the “Vote Yes” signs.” (CBS 2 News, October 28, 2005)
(Watch footage of the attack http://mediadrool.com/movies-md/Genevieve.wmv)
Two Los Angeles television stations caught on tape a hyped up mob of union activists intimidating and roughing up a woman who had the courage to speak out in favor of the four reform initiatives.
To borrow a phrase from Congressman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), “the whiff of fascism is in the air.” (Miami Herald, November 26, 2000) (This, by the way, is the same Nadler who contributed $1,000 to the committee opposing Prop. 77.)
Whipping the crowd into a frenzy was none other than Speaker Fabian Nunez, who was a featured speaker at the rally in Pershing Square. At the very least, Nunez – a former union organizer himself – has a duty to issue a public apology to this woman on behalf the union bosses who control him. That is, unless the Speaker believes that violence and thuggery are acceptable forms of public expression.
Call Speaker Fabian Nunez’s office today and DEMAND THAT HE ISSUE A PUBLIC APOLOGY TO GENEVIEVE PETERS.
