Why not recognize it for waht it is/was? All Hallows (Saints) Eve? The night before All Saints' Day, originally a Catholic holy day? Nothing evil in that..............

I prefer the ghoulish as part of my Halloween.
Of course the reason the schools in my neck of the woods went to "Fall Festival" was to not offend practicing witches. Geesh!

Look, Halloween is fun. It's this sort of Jack Chick-ian view that gives Christianity a bad, prudish name.

Aw, cmon...we're a long way from what 'All Hallows Eve' used to be back in the get-down and party days of the Druids. Sheesh! Keep it Halloween not some warm fuzzy excuse of a Holiday.

Bu-rother.
Right Wing Political Correctness is just as stupid as Left Wing Political Correctness.
Halloween has always been a fun time for the kids and adults. It also lets us address and laugh at Death and Evil.
I know a place where you can get a loan and rent a life.

If your school insists on having some kind of Halloween celebration, recommend that they steer away from the ghoulish and occultOh for Christ's sake, give it a break! Halloween is nothing more than a harmless ancient pagan celebration of the Druid New Year. Let the kids have their fun. You can thump them on the head with a Bible the following Sunday.

If you don't want to participate in or celebrate Halloween, I respect that. But let's be honest, most "Fall Festivals" are just Halloween carnivals in drag.
You still have the pumpkins, the candy, the costumes (but not the "scary" ones). What's the real difference?
At our former church they advertised that kids should come as their favorite Disney or Biblical character.
Wife and I had a hard time deciding between Cruella de Vil, Rahab the Harlot or the Witch of Endor.
