Re-focus Halloween!
If your school insists on having some kind of Halloween celebration, recommend that they steer away from the ghoulish and occult and, instead, focus on the event as a fall festival. ...
"When you turn evil into a game, it trivializes it and numbs children to its darkness."

LOL! You get it.
OMG!
No, the Baphomet mask.
Ever had your yard papered 30 minutes before a light drizzle?
Youknowaddamean :(
All the joy of Halloween was taken out,
once there were no more outhouses to tip over.
Of course she didn't realize I was talking about Halloween and said I was wierd and she had a headache anyway
Texaslil, your post reminded me of bit of an experience we had trick-or-treating with our boys when they were youngsters...
We approached one house in our neighborhood...the two children who lived there, were sitting on the fence and passing out religious tracts, explaining why it was sinful for the other children to be out trick-or-treating...not only were they passing out tracts, they were pointing their fingers and hollering at all the kids about how sinful they were, and how they were all going to Hell...I have rarely seen two such obnoxious children...
Their mom and dad stood right behind them, proudly beaming at their passing out of tracts, and their screaming tactics...
Now these people lived just a block from us, yet no one knew a whole lot about them, as they kept to themselves, and their children were not allowed to play with the other children in the area...
A few months later, cop cars with sirens blaring, sped to their house...naturally all us nosy neighbors had to see what was going on...apparently dad came home early one day to find mom engaged in some sexual activities with another man...dad tried to shoot mom dead...she was taken to the hospital, he was escorted to jail...
I guess these folks believed that going trick-or-treating on Halloween was sinful, but adultery and attempted murder were not...
Blurblogger...if you do not want your children to participate in Halloween activities, then dont let them....from the responses on this thread, ,you certainly have to have gotten the idea, that most here simply dont agree with you, or your version of what a Christian should or should not do...to each his own...
For myself, I welcome seeing all the little ones, coming to my door, in anticipation of some treats...I especially like seeing the little babies dressed up like bunnies, or kitties, and the little girls dressed up like princesses or ballerinas...they all look so cute......I almost never have anyone showing up as a some horror creature....
Little children, dressed up like a cute little animal, or a little girl, dressed up like a princess, , or some little boy dressed up like a cowboy or a football player is hardly something to be seen as 'sinful' or 'harmful', or pandering to the devil...at least in my view...
But, hey, regard Halloween any way you want...and the rest of us will do the same...
LOL!!!!
Now THAT is funny!!
What planet do you hail from?
When I was a kid, it was all about the candy. And even today, that's what it is. That's why those 200 kids knock on my door every Halloween night. They just want a handful of candy. They couldn't care less about witchcraft.
"The Death Cookie," eh? I didn't know you worshipped the devil!
I ignore Halloween completely. We really don't get many trick-or-treaters and I haven't put a costume on in 10 years.
But, like you, I think it is fun for a lot of folks and it used to be fun when I was younger.
This "celebratiom of the occult" thinking is the same thing as those who think Harry Potter is evil.
*snort* Yeah, I know what you mean.
Oh God, just got an email that the fishing club is having a halloween party. I guess everyone'll have a fun time and get drunk, but I'm just getting too old for that kind of foolishness! Was looking forward to staying home and eating some of the candy we'll get for the kids :-)
Spooky? No. Bizarre? Yes.
Spooky is driving down country roads in Mississippi in the middle of the night. In Neshoba County.
Not this crap again!! It's a harmless night for kids....
Gotta be a carvin the pumpkin joke there somehwere.....:o)
The "sapmming was an accident I asked the moderator people to correct it. I just think the kids should have the same fun we did. I enjoyed Halloween and it should be left as it is. Of course it has pagan roots so what! So does Easter and Christmas.
Good grief. Don't let the kids see that, they'll never sleep well again.
