Ann Coulter just took apart President Bush's SCOTUS nominee on the air during her appearance on the Mike Rosen show here in Denver on 850am KOA. She called for listeners to write their senators to oppose the nomination. Wish you could have heard it!
Ann said - "Totally unqualified", called Judge Roberts "a 'dream' candidate in light of this nomination", mentioned "cronyism" over and over. Much more that I'm trying to digest. I called the station to see if they saved the audio, but no luck on that. Mike Rosen was just about speechless as Ann went on and on about why this was a lousy choice.
I agree with Ann. Huge mistake and missed opportunity.
Ann's choice, Janice Rodgers-Brown. Not enough intestinal fortitude in the White House to go with that choice.
Can't wait for Ann's column on this nomination later this week.
Yup, but it will extend out a bit. Unless she proves to be constitituionally wanting at the hearings the hearings will devolve into an inquisition on whether or not Evangelical Christians can toe the secular line.
After all, diversity on the court can only be counted in colors and chromosomes.
Hmmm. Separated at birth?
LOL!!!!
I don't depend on Ann Coulter for my opinions.
We're not picking a pastor here, we're choosing someone who will sit on the Supreme Court for-conceivably-the next two decades, at least.
Pete who?
Please post a recent photo of your girth! Need to see it!
SUre it is, Rush had a montage on yesterday with lefties in the MSM using it over and over again. Pretty funny until ANnie latched on to it, now she'll have to be added to the montage.
It's an ineluctable fact.
Scrappleface had a nice piece yesterday as well. It skewered your ineluctable fact. Pretty funny as well.
Simply because you choose to deny the obvious doesn't make it any less of a reality
Actually I think it is a grave sin for a POTUS to appoint people he knows and trusts to positions of critical improtance. He should use the lottery system and failing that a public hanging should commence forthwith.
At least I finally know Ann is no BOT.
And afterwards, what do you discuss?
What are you talking about?
The Scrappleface piece was an amusing piece of satire, but it only illustrated what everyone already knows, i.e. that this woman was only chosen because she is a close friend of President Bush.
YOU SAID... "He may think so, but he ain't gonna tell you why because if he does he's either going to PO the conservatives or the liberals."
Touting the qualifications of your candidate facilitates the confirmation process...not hinders it. Were talking qualifications...NOT idealogy.
Would you or somebody on this forum answer my question...how or why did a highly qualified CONSERVATIVE like Roberts get confirmed in this doomsday filibuster scenario some people are imagining?
Why cant the Roberts process happen again with another equally qualified known conservative?
I'm not from New York, but I'm not far (Mark Levin grew up several miles from me). I have spoken to people throughout the United States and I've always thought the people in "fly over" country were the best.
I now have the same feeling. I've gone back and forth on this since yesterday.
I actually woke up in the middle of the night and realized that if she's confirmed and turns out to be another liberal, I couldn't vote for Guiliani in '08 like I would love to do (if he somehow manages to make it through the primaries, which is unlikely).
Someone posted that perhaps the president was thinking of the court as a whole; that makes sense. The facts that she's a Christian and that she's chosen Bush's appointees are reassuring.
And I'm starting to really like the idea of having someone from outside of the judiciary, and outside of the "elite" group. It's a good thing if a member of SCOTUS comes from a solid red state background--a breath of fresh air, in fact.
/rambling :)
I'm not sure about that, she is a "kooky conservative bot" for CNN and MSNBC ala buchanan, IMO.
But what the hey she get's a paycheck from them, something she definately won't throw up.
If it is immaterial, then why did you bring it up? It seemed to matter to you.
