Ann Coulter just took apart SCOTUS nominee on the Mike Rosen show (My report)
Ann Coulter's appearance on the Mike Rosen show, 850am KOA ^ | This morning, Mon. Oct. 4th | Report from Mike Rosen show

Posted on 10/04/2005 10:39:32 AM PDT by ajolympian2004

Ann Coulter just took apart President Bush's SCOTUS nominee on the air during her appearance on the Mike Rosen show here in Denver on 850am KOA. She called for listeners to write their senators to oppose the nomination. Wish you could have heard it!

Ann said - "Totally unqualified", called Judge Roberts "a 'dream' candidate in light of this nomination", mentioned "cronyism" over and over. Much more that I'm trying to digest. I called the station to see if they saved the audio, but no luck on that. Mike Rosen was just about speechless as Ann went on and on about why this was a lousy choice.

I agree with Ann. Huge mistake and missed opportunity.

Ann's choice, Janice Rodgers-Brown. Not enough intestinal fortitude in the White House to go with that choice.

Can't wait for Ann's column on this nomination later this week.

Well, Rice is another tough cookie, a good conservative, but not real strong on being pro life.

I think it takes guts to ever put a woman in power as a judge because they have a more natural tendency to be socialists. So when Bush appointed this woman, he had to be certain she was not a socialist and more of strong conservative that doesn't believe in the nanny state.

"DU troll" (dee you troul') n. 1. Someone from Democratic Underground (DU), a site just like FreeRepublic, only completely different, who comes to FR to stir up trouble. 2. Anyone who dares disagree with GWB about pretty much anything at all. Syn. "knee-jerk Bush-hater"; "sunshine patriot"; "third-party voter"; "closed-border fanatic".

So, not knowing what a DU troll is makes me one? Could someone else enlighten me? Also, is there an acronym guide out there? I get some of the easier ones like LOL, IMHO, and ROFLMAO, but that's about it.

Of course, much presupposition exists here on Dubya's selection of the SCOTUS nominee. First, is that all members of the Senate Judiciary Committee will vote in the affirmative, and second that the GOP Senators will vote to affirm.

The last point is no "slam dunk."

A DU troll is someone who posts primarily at "Democratic Underground", signs up (usually within the past week) at FR, then starts launching Scuds without provocation.
Heroes include Satan and Che Guevera.

Problem is, we have Bushbots on site, too. A Bushbot believes that W is Lord Almighty God, plain and simple.
Heroes include Hugh Hewitt and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Then there are the Dissenters. Dissenters typically criticize the president over petty issues like lifetime appointments to the Supreme Court and pretending we have a border, but are often accused of being DU trolls. Heroes include Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter.

LOL Naw, though I have read his book "Play Poker Like the Pros". I stick to the tourist tables when I play (which isn't often), but I have never walked away from a table worse than breaking even. There are a lot of analogies that can be drawn between poker and politics. Patience, strategy and an eye on the end game.

I bookmarked your other post. It's excellent.

Ann is moving towards the Michael Savage/Pat Buchanan level of relevancy inch by inch.

Yep. I was quite fond of her, and particularly enjoyed "Slander", however I lost respect for her when "Treason" came out during an interview with Chris Matthews on Hardball. While some liberals are guilty of what could be construed as treason, Ann couldn't answer Chris when he asked her if JFK was guilty of treason. I'm a rabid Republican, but can't imagine anyone claiming President Kennedy was truly guilty of treason except to generate pure controversy and sensationalism.

You got it exactly. A lot more people in this country were not educated at Ivy League schools than were. And Ann Coulter makes her cash by being flamboyant and over the top. I like her, but lets face it, she wouldnt make money by being cautious.

Just curious, where did she get her law degree? Oh, and I think the lack of pictures here may warrant some serious soul searching. Rules are rules dammit!

She is a religious conservative.

I heard that, but you'd never know it from the wailing and gnashing of teeth going on around here.

Let's just say I prefer the raw data on the individual, especially with the historic performance of Pubbie SCOTUS picks (50% conservative, 25% moderate, 25% liberal) and the leftward tilt exerted on most Justices once they reach the bench. What I've seen so far is not nearly enough to convince me that the trend has been busted (with Roberts taking the 1-in-2 conservative role); the best I can say is that it's more likely that Miers will be a moderate Justice than a liberal one.

Really the woman doesn't have damn brain in her head, can't write a coherent sentence and has never accomplished anything of note in her entire life.

I tend to agree. So far I haven't seen the force of personality and intellect to persuade others on the bench with her arguments, but I shall withhold judgment until I've seen more. (For that matter, it would be nice if Bush could win an argument instead of begging for the press to believe him, IMHO.)

How come a raging liberal like Ginsberg receives a free pass, then when our turn comes we are afraid to even nominate a Janis Rodgers - Brown? For shame!

EXACTLY!!!!

Seems like a lot of people are doing that of late. Sheep usually stay in the pasture, don't they?
