The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
Thank God for cellphones. It's a way to warn people when no one is charge is telling them of the danger.

You couldn't go out the SW gate so people on the westside of the stadium in the donor seats were getting advance word according to a lady that was walking next to us as we went up Asp. We sit in the NE side of the stadium and could see all kinds of flashing lights so we knew something was wrong a long time before anyone around us got a cell phone call.
Cell phones were getting all kinds of busy signals.

There is very little news here about it except a few words on some of the sports shows after the game. The word that I have heard used by the media people here is suicide bomber.
I'm sure they could tell immediately if the remains were male or female. They just didn't let the media in on it. The cops will probably find a dark blue abandoned car in the morning. Our infamous, all-knowing "Moose" will insist it is a white van.
Cell phones can detonate some bombs, from what I've read. Don't know how true that is. Is is possible someone had something on to "jam" the signals for a bit while they looked for another device? I'm just speculating.
It could have been the accoustics playing games with the sound. It could have been a really big pipe bomb. It could mean "real" explosives were used. I think this guy is credible so it ups the ante of what we are dealing with here.
Any big birds overhead with the sat dish on top? It seems that they are keeping the media from letting out any info....total blackout on all levels. Guess the Gooberment isn't ready to open up terrorist hunting season yet.
Th London bombers all entered the underground as a group and then split up later to bomb the different trains.
Seems like these three guys may have started out walking towards the stadium together, with plans to go to three different exits to cause murder and mayhem.

When I lived in OK, I was *supposed* to not like him, being the lifelong Pubbie that I am, but I always did. He liked the oil business, which was my livelihood at the time--and is again now, by accident; he was a military hawk, fiscal conservative; and after I moved back to Houston, I remember he was one of the few Dems who voted for Justice Thomas.
His wife was a PR client of mine, as head of several boards of my client organizations and companies. And his brother was my chili-cooking mentor!
