The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.

Thank you for the reply. Was frightening to read they had discovered that. I feel fine other than momentary PANIC!
I justed scan Maricopa sherrif, Tempe police, Phoenix police and DPS and didn't here anything either.
"Occam's Razor. Sometimes a kid with pipe bombs is just a kid with pipe bombs."
Exactly!!
I just got home from the game. They are calling it a suicide bomber and they found another bomb unexploded. One of my son's fraternity brothers was within about 30 yards of the blast and felt the heat on his face outside the science hall which is also near the stadium.
The police were interviewing him and one of the girls that was over at the fraternity (I park there) because she saw two men run in the stadium after the explosion and separate.
It was so loud. I told my son and daughter along with my son's friend that it sounded like a bomb. We didn't have any confirmation until the girl behind us got a call as it had scrolled across the screen.
Last I heard, they were looking for two more suspects, they blew up the second bomb, have bomb dogs all over campus going through the buildings that were open, and they couldn't tell if the person blown up was a man or woman.
Our news has very few details other than FBI is on the scene. Think every Norman cop from the looks of it is on the campus. We had to exit through the east and north sides and walk around as they had the south oval closed off from Lindsey to the Library.
What a scarey situation -- it was so freaky to hear that loud explosion and then absolutely zero news but we could see police cars all around from where we sit in the stadium. Didn't hear a word until the 4th quarter when the lady behind us received a call!
Point # 2. Our goal is that freedom for all religious faiths continues, insofar as they do not endanger the American people, or the existence of democracy.
However, the repeated comments about things Hillary did while first lady, and how they "didn't work out", was kind of funny.
Yes, I wasted an hour of my life watching the re-run of this show. It's no West Wing. I can't get past the premise (not of a female VP, but the rediculous suggestion that 1) A republican would pick an independent VP, 2) That either party would pick a VP with the idea that they would NEVER be president, or 3) that the american people would be stupid enough to fall for it.
Or that, assuming we DID 1-3, that this discussion about resignation wouldn't have been held the first day of the new administration, that the person picked would have been on-board with the idea, and most likely they would have already had the resignation.
OK, I know it is just TV. But the idea that she waits a day, but is going to address a joint session of congress, to show there is nothing to see so the markets aren't spooked neglects the idea that on Sunday there are markets open throughout the world.
Also, I'm pretty sure we would be a defcon 1 when the president dies, as a matter of course, just to make sure nobody messes with us.
Also, the VP shouldn't be able to order troop movements until she was temporarily made President by invocation of the 25th amendment, which they didn't do.
I don't like the politics of the west wing, but I like watching it because it seems vaguely plausible, (as much as a TV show could be). I don't even KNOW the politics of this new show yet, and I already can't watch it because they have broken my credulity. Same reason I stopped watching 24, it just became unbelievable (I came back this year because they fixed it).
On the "bombing", I just learned about it here at about 11:50pm EDT, and there was absolutely nothing I could find on TV so I assume that it wasn't what we all know is coming, the start of mass bombings in our country.
I don't think the M-80's I lit up on July 4th would be enough to be newsworthy, but it would make mincemeat out of the mailbox lid.
This image is from a suicide bombing in Israel in March 2002.
Thank you for that information.
Total of 3 "potential" suspects? Or 4...the one that exploded, the one police detonated and possibly 3 and 4th with men who ran away?
When are we going to hear why there was more than one bomb? He blew up and the cops detonate a bomb in a backpack? I would guess we have another bomber reeeeeal close by.
Wow. Thanks.
Thanks for your report. That may be the most up to date news on the internet and of course cable news has been put to bed.
Hey, how about giving a warning before you post that?
What does deep boom mean.
It looks like we just got a sneak preview of Al Qaeda's Ramadan plans for our country. Are the 2 other suspects being described as male arab muslims?
I just posted what happened as I was at the game so I might as well post what a girl at my son's fraternity said. She is Iranian (Persian) and she said two dark Middle Eastern types came running into the stadium and separated several minutes after the bomb went off. She said since she was Middle Eastern she felt safe in saying they fit the profile. She made a point of saying they were much darker skinned then the Iranian people and when she heard the bomb blast, she was convinced at the time it was a suicide bomb and these two were part of what was happening.
Word we are getting is that they were on their way to the stadium to make a statement by blowing it up there. My daughter and I walked the long way back to my son's fraternity house as they had closed off a large part of the campus and was behind someone (he was wearing a suit) on the phone and his wife was telling everyone around to get as far away from the stadium as possible. Freaky night!
