The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
bump to that thought.
they want media attention - and you get more of that in a big city.
if this does turn out to be a move by an AQ cell - the Oklahoma connection was chosen because of what others have posted on this thread - that area has long had links to Hamas and other terror related persons. they had people embedded in that area who could setup and carry out an attack, that's why they did it there.
Yup. Thank you, Jesus. Safavian is outta the loop.
evenin Karl, I see you're on the case!
LOL! I'll be interested to here what comes out about this later afte all 80,000 folks are safely out of the stadium and pandemonium is no longer a fear.
Hey, when you get it, keep those of us who are "scanner-less" informed, won't you?
I agree.
Doc - I was in the area the 6 days ago when they say this was detected. Was feeling fine till I read the post reporting it, lol. Seriously, is there anything I should do? Any precautionary tests or anything? Thanks
A mighty big 'unless'.
I fully expect the official story, once the Feds get ahold of it, to be that it was a lone crazy, with no terrorist links.

Person could've built the bomb, hesitated on committing murder, then in a depressed moment committed suicide on an impulse. Similar to numerous reports of persons who kill those around them, then commit suicide.
Holy cow! This might be the fat man!

ELF Bowling was a computer game where Santa bowled over the elves...the elves had some funny comments when you missed them.
And this just happened in D.C.... (post#269)
That's unbelievable. There is just too much going on today to believe it's all coincidence.

My sentiments exactly.
Found this article. Sorry if it has been posted, I'm coming into this thread late.

Norman (AP) - Authorities say one person was killed in an explosion Saturday night on the University of Oklahoma campus.
O-U President David Boren says the incident near Oklahoma Memorial Stadium was a suicide and is under investigation.
The loud noise of the explosion could be heard inside stadium, where about 84-thousand people were watching the Oklahoma Sooners play Kansas State.
Officers cordoned off an area west of the stadium and no one was allowed out of the stadium immediately after the blast, which occurred shortly before halftime.
People were allowed out of the stadium later and Boren says at no time were the spectators in danger.
A police bomb squad detonated explosives found at the site of the blast. The area near the stadium was searched by bomb dogs.
This picture is going on my bio page right away. Frightening but I am not surprised. I have been talking about the Islamist influence here since 1999 (when I first came here).
This sounds like the intent of the explosives were to do damage to more than just one person.
