This morning, buried in different threads, I have seen two reports on Freepers receiving automated phone calls asking for calls to Congressmen about Tom DeLay.

I think we need to know how widespread these phone calls are, and which congressmen are being targeted.

The two reports I read were in New York and Texas.

If anyone has received such a call, please post it here along with the organization and the congressman targeted. I believe the Rats are trying to create the impression of a groundswell against DeLay, and I am interested in stopping this.

It sought to connect Taylor to DeLay because Taylor had received "$6,000 of tainted money from DeLay." It gave Taylor's office phone number, and urged listeners to "call his office and demand that the DeLay money be given back." I don't recall whether it asked that Taylor resign, as it did for DeLay

I am assuming they are of public record .. but you have to research all this information for each of the Congressional Members

I need to leave and won't be back until later this evening. If you are here and think of it, you might bump this thread once in a while. Saturday doesn't get the highest exposure, but I wanted to do this while the calls were still fresh in people's minds. Fortunately, we have two Freepers who kept the recordings from their answering machines.

And if I remember correctly I believe Rush made the comment that was interesting that they had the computerized phone call system already cranked up and running just one day after the indictment. Would still like to see Howard Dean et.al phone records and see the amount of traffic to Ronnie Earle

Just got a call about 10 mins. ago asking me to phone my congressional rep (AZ)to return Delay's (ilegal) funds. No name or organization given.

Funny there's no similar call to return Pelosi's illegal contributions!

Miss Marple I believe it was Rush who pointed out the fact that the democrats seemed to be aware that the indictment was upcoming. When it is a political hit such as this one obviously is, I am sure they were all working together to make it happen. This just smells to high Heaven. They need to be exposed.

Phone just rang.

Organization: "We the people."

Call: (Woman speaking)— On Wednesday, close friend and associate of our congresswoman Cathy McMorris, Tom Delay indicted on felony conspiracy char...click.

I should have listened for the rest, but why waste my time.

Nope...got one a couple minutes ago...We the People strongly attributed.

I later found out from news sources in Western Carolina that these calls were made by MoveOn.org, and that they may have gone to all working phone numbers in the 11th District.

Got the same call last night here in the Arizona 1st District. Same message, just dubbed in Rick Renzi's name where it fit.

1. Why is a group with a 501c(3) status spreading an obvious politically biased message?

2. My number is on the Nat'l Do Not Call Registry. Is this grounds for a complaint?

Wake up people. When they start calling on Monday, please someone get a recording. I haven't gotten my call yet and I may get on because my Rep. is Shelley Capito (R). I'll watch my caller I.D. and maybe they will leave the message on my answer service. I can record it off there. Hope I get one with the We The People signature.

That is a good question. As far as I understand it, political campaigns are exempt from the "do not call" list.

If this is a political call, they are in violation of the law, PLUS 501c3 organizations are not supposed to be involved in political activity.

Who do we complain to?

We have two people who have recorded the message. One attributes "We the People" and one does not. If you get a message, keep the recording.

It is unfortunate that I started this thread on a weekend. I missed Tony and Rush's shows on Friday, for the most part, so I didn't know about these calls until I read about them today. I hope this thread will come to the attention of people on talk radio and the RNC.
