This morning, buried in different threads, I have seen two reports on Freepers receiving automated phone calls asking for calls to Congressmen about Tom DeLay.
I think we need to know how widespread these phone calls are, and which congressmen are being targeted.
The two reports I read were in New York and Texas.
If anyone has received such a call, please post it here along with the organization and the congressman targeted. I believe the Rats are trying to create the impression of a groundswell against DeLay, and I am interested in stopping this.
The media USED to be a powerful tool. Now they're increasingly seen as (to use your word) a tool of the 'Rat party. Thanks to Free Republic, some blogs, and the occasional honest journalist like Brit Hume, this 'Rat tool is becoming less relevant.
"supposedly majority party", I correct myself
I read a few articles and the thyme of them all was how "lonely" Delay was not that he wasn't in a leadership role anymore
They obviously don't know Delay
Yeah they are so strong, that the Iron Warrior of the liberal media, the new york times, is actually laying off warriors.(Sorry guys, gals, and metrosexuals, but we can't give you your daily ration, love pinch sulzberger).
I recieved two messages on my answering machine the other day, one anti-DeLay and one from Tom DeLay explaing his side. I am in Harris County Texas.
Hand-wringing is not an attractive trait, whether a woman or a man. This thread is an effort to DO something to counter the lame attemps by the Rats.
"We the Peope" automated call.
Asking to call our Rep., Charlie Dent, and ask him to give back money received from RNC./Tom DeLay
Live in Eastern PA.
Tucson, Arizona here.
Got home last night and had a message on the answering machine so I have it recorded. I just checked it again to confirm there was no identity given of who or what group was behind the call.
It is a male voice saying Jim Kolbe (our Congressman) has taken dirty money from Tom DeLay who has just been indicted for "money laundering". The call instructed us to call Kolbe, provided a phone number, and told us to demand that Kolbe return this tainted money and demand the Tom DeLay resign from Congress.
Oh, thank you! Did you happen to keep the recording?
I got an automated call yesterday that I hung up on - I was thinking it was the Dems but on second thought maybe it was People For The American Way. I habitually hang up on both of them. :p My impression at the time was that they were talking about DeLay but I can't remember exactly what was said so I wouldn't swear to it. I'm in South Bend, IN, and I assumed they were calling because they assumed I was a democrat - this area tends in that direction more than most of Indiana.
My husband got one of these calls night before last. We live in north central Illinois.
I received one in Florida--saying that our Congresswoman, Ginny Brown-Waite, received tainted money from Delay and that we should call her and demand she return the money, plus speak out against DeLay. I can't recall the day or any information about the sponsorship. It was some time during the week--probably Thursday, as I had been out all day. I was surprised and deleted it after I figured out what it was about!
We The People is a membership association led by the former Governor of California and current mayor of Oakland, Edmund G. Brown, Jr., better known as Jerry Brown.
We The People Legal Foundation, Inc. is a c(3) tax deductible, non-profit corporation dedicated to strengthening the practice of democracy and the ability of people to shape the places where they live.
Add New Mexico to the list. An automated call has gone out accusing Congressman Steve Pearce of accepting "tainted money" from Tom Delay. No sponsoring organization was mentioned.
Yes, I still have it.
I wonder if they realized that WTP shouldn't be involved in political stuff and deleted the attribution on the later calls.
Received a call in AZ last night . Some thing about calling Kolbe's office and tainted money from Delay. Dem garbage.
I hope those of you with media platforms will take a look at this thread. We seem to have a coordinated effort to call Republicans led by a 501c3 group, "We the People." cyncooper has a copy of the message, although without the attribution. Others have received the same call with "We the People" as the sponsor. That is the group Jerry Brown sponsors in Oakland.
Thank you for taking the time to read this thread.
That is the only specific thing my hubby could remember from the call........they urged him to call Jerry Weller, our congressman.
