The Dem playbook
The Hill newspaper gives us a peek at the Democratic playbook for the Roberts hearings. Below are the attack assignments for the Democratic members of the Committee:
Kennedy -- civil rights
Leahy -- Bybee torture memo
Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment
Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties
Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade
Feingold -- limits of executive powers
Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

BTTT
It says "round 1" how many rounds of questioning does he have to endure from these idiots?
Schumer will most likely be the designated attack beast.
Ping for after morning appointment . . .
Fireworks or we see Roberts' light/truth sabre reduce the Demrats to their real size.
Depends upon whether or not they smell blood or find a scab to pick.
Bork and Thomas went into extraordinary rounds.
It looks like Roberts will be confirmed.
I think you are right. Yesterday Chuckie said something to the effect "We only see 10 % of You. Just the "tip" of the iceberg and we all know that the real problem is the 90% that we don't see submerged underwater".
Thanks so much for these threads. Yesterday was typical 'rat bile. The rest of this week should be an eye-opener for Americans as we watch liberals defend their ideology like gargoyles on a condemned building.
Can't post much today but will read the responses.
That should have been Kennedy's line
Day Two...Oh Goody!....We get to see Chuckie Schumer make even a bigger A$$ of himself today than he did yesterday...personally, I wish none of these hearings were televised....this forum just gives the liberal politicians the opportunity to posture and rant.....against Republicans...
Sometimes I think this just creates more Republicans. It is embarrasing to feel you are aligned with people like Schumer, Kennedy and Biden.
Let these liberal senatorial bloodsuckers demean, insult and patronize Judge Roberts to the max. The majority of folks in this country are not watching the hearings like us news junkies, so the damage is mimimal.
However, one thing is not minimal. It's the effect of the attacks on Roberts himself. The attacks will be seared into his psyche.
Don't misunderstand. This is not to say that the attacks will affect him in any negative way.....he's a big boy and is expecting the onslaught.
It just seems to me that liberalism rearing its ugly fascist head in this hearing will not be forgotten by John Roberts. And while he will always be fair, no one can tell me that the vituperation of these monstrous senators won't be reinforcing conservatism in Chief Justice Roberts subconscious forever.
This is a good thing.
Leni
This is going to go on until 8:30 tonight? Ugh...it has GOT to be against American's civil liberties to be subjected to so many blowhards for so many hours.
I am sure he is. I think Clarence Thomas was only half prepared, because no one had any idea how low they were willing to go.
I look forward to today's hearings myself. Word is that after Judge Roberts' measured remarks yesterday, dems on the committee said "this guy is good".
Let them bring it on as you say, Leni. John Roberts is more than up to the challenge. There is no intellectual match-up if you ask me. Roberts puts them all to shame.
Peace.
Court TV will also be carrying the Roberts Hearing.
