"In a freak occurance, much of Los Angelos fell into darkness today as a temporary power outage fell over the city.

"Early reports blame the outage on an experimental electric generating plant in use which obtains electricity via the energy of the collective consciousness of the city harnessed into hatred for President Bush and his administrations.

"Speculaton centers on the resignation of FEMA director Brown. This is the first time that the direct object of the plant's focus of anger has been fulfilled. It is thought that this brought a momentary calm amongst the liberals in the city. The loss of anger energy may have overloaded the city's distribution system.

"Power was slowly being restored as the liberal anger was refocused to Judge Roberts, whose Supreme Court Nomination hearings started today.

"Local officials promised to find a republican to blame for the failure to provide backup power in case Robert's quiet demeanor makes it impossible to evoke sufficient hatred to make up for the lost power.

"'In the future, we will make sure to always have at least TWO attacks running at all times against Bush, to ensure that power can be maintained during disasters like the Brown Resignation', a local official was quoted as saying.

It's probably that Solar activity, or incompetence, but I'm sure Al-Kiddah, or El-Kabong, or whatever that bunch of sand goblins is that threatened us and Australia will come out of the woodwork and claim "another Death Blow at the Great Satan has been struck!"

"Department of Water and Power does not know cause of mass outage..."

Right there's your problem. Power n' water don't mix.

Knock out the power, limit the means to warn people, and then set off a dirty bomb

Im glad I was wrong about that. Power is coming back in some areas of the city.

Thank You, Lord.

Never mind- "expert" on FNC now says L.A's power grid is designed to protect itself - so when something goes wrong somewhere, other parts of the grid will shut themselves off to prevent more problems./overloads... (hope I quoted that right)

I think that means neighboring grids became unstable, so to prevent cascading failures in a huge area, they shut down the adjoining ones.

If so, power should be restored before too long.
