Congressman Curt Weldon (R - Pennsylvania) gave another exclusive interview to Dom Giordano this evening (Monday) and broke the news that he will be giving a speech on September 8th (next Monday) during which he will present yet another 'Able Danger' witness. This new witness will attest (and will swear under oath when called) that he was "ordered to destroy records" relating to the 'Able Danger' program.
This order to destroy the records occurred prior to 9-11-01. Weldon intimated that it happened during the Clinton Administration.
The witness, who Weldon did not name, says that he was ordered to destroy records and was threatened with jail if he failed to comply. Weldon said that he has the names of the people involved, including the person who gave the order, and HE WILL NAME THEM in his speech.
Congressman Weldon also said that his staff has met with Senator Arlen Specter's (R - Pennsylvania) staff regarding the upcoming Judiciary Committee hearings. Weldon wants to be sure that everybody is on the same page. Weldon also said that he will do whatever he has to do to make sure that ALL the facts come out and that the process "is not manipulated".
Curt Weldon is like a pit bull on a steak. He expressed disgust with the "incompetence" of the 9-11 Commission and said that the victims of the 9-11 terror attacks deserve answers. Weldon is determined to see that they get them.
Weldon did express confidence in Tim Roehmer and John Lehman and speculated that perhaps the poor job done by the Commission was the result of an incompetent staff. Weldon sounded amazed and disappointed that so much important information was either glossed over or swept under the rug by the Commission.
Weldon will give his September 8th speech either to the National Press Club or to a "9-11 families" group which has asked him to speak. He apparently hasn't nailed down the exact venue yet.
(For those unfamiliar with Dom Giordano, he is a very good conservative local talk show host here in the Philadelphia area, an area which includes Curt Weldon's district. Weldon comes on Dom's show often and, like this evening, sometimes breaks news.)
Please remove your tinfoil hat; it's on way to tight.
Makes sense. We are talking about a group of special ops folks.
I was around doing McCarthy's era and later lived in Wisconsin for 15 years. Wisconsin has/had many wacko politicians and he was one of them. Wonderful state, great people, but nutty politicians.
ping!
Why would they be ordered destroyed prior to 9/11? Nothing was breathing down their necks at the time.
To the Washington Times:
"Pentagon spokesman, Lawrence DiRita keeps changing his story on Able Danger. First he mocked the memory of LTC Shaefer, then the combined memories of Shaefer and Phillpot. Now that another Able Danger contractor has come forward, DiRita issued a statement over the weekend saying, there's no reason to doubt the combined memories of these three men.
Oh, DiRita continues to ask the Catch 22 question: "Where's the documents?" The Pentagon has to know if these three whistleblowers had documents, unlike Sandy Berger, they would be severely punished for stealing classified documents.
Why isn't DiRita's latest version of the Pentagon position covered in newspapers today? It should be, if only so Americans will understand it's not just the 9-11 Commission that practices situational truth-telling."
"Where's the document?" Now we know.
What "people"? You're not talking about Freepr people are you? Anyone that's read Coulter will know the significance of the Mcarthy era.
I tend to agree, and probably the timeframe wouldn't have been until after the 2000 election was really over-- which would be a very short window. My theory is that, should Algore have won, it wouldn't have been necessary.
No sarcasm at all. Specter has been doing fine - much more than you realize. He also has some very fine staff members and former staff members doing great work for the administration... but you'll never believe it.
No, the *establishmnet* will try to destroy these witnesses. "Left vs right" is nothing more than a distraction.
I am experiencing some swelling in that region. Don't you think it is just a bit odd that Clinton didn't have any trouble attacking US citizens but when it came to defending America from abroad, (and the list is extensive," he couldn't get the job done?
Where all good probes go to DIE!
It might be some of the guys on the sheet brought down TWA flight 800. It was time to make sure the Clintonistas new nothing about what was coming. Covering up might have seemed impossible after the crazy lengths they went to cover up the TWA terrorist incident.
Well, what do you think of Coulter's book..Treason? Her assessment of Mcarthy?
"The klintoons were in constant CYA mode. All loose ends must be tied up, no matter the cost. (i.e. V. Foster, R. Brown)"

You forgot Bimbogate, etc...
This isn't 1973.
In this day of instant news, if one isn't ready to go full stop, it's best to hold the cards close and lay down only when the pot it right.
Too much time to spin this one. Weldon should have kept it until 9-8 and not allowed the downplay to come.
"Either Weldon is a nutjob.."
He is no nut job. He has carefully planned out with real republicans just how to go about the whole thing, what pace to break tidbits etc.. Problem is the 9/11, Atta, terrorist cells, the China dealings, are not the only things that will end up falling out of this. There is much more. The whole issue with how Clintoon dealt with taking out the Serbs. How our folks interfaced with the Russians with their little problems etc.. There is probably so much we who have not worked in the various Intel Agencies don't know it would make ones head spin off to Andromeda. Surely Weldon only appears to be taking the lead. He is the front man on this job. Lastly it has little to do with patriotism. I has to do with pay back time, regardless of who is going to have to get hurt, e.g. military folks just doing their jobs, etc..
