If the explosives were mixed in one batch, the batch could have been bad. Detonators are typically like blanks used in starter pistols to provide concussion that sets off the big explosive.

If the batch was bad, none of the explosives would go off, or would be weak at best (strictly from a technical standpoint, you understand).

I can believe that groups of young muslims would attempt copy-cat attacks without the benefit of skilled bomb making ability...maybe that's what happened. I also don't believe any other non-muslim group would do anything that would associate themselves with the type of attack perpetrated on 7/7.

Yeah, am wondering if it might be a copycat attack, such as by skinheads trying to stir up more rage against muslims. Nailbombs aren't sophisticated. OTOH, 4 at near once takes a bit of coordination, and the Palestinian terror filth is quite fond of nail bombs. Could be anybody, but of course odds would suggest Islamifascist terrorists.
