It's awesome, it's beautiful.

The real question is: What are they saying over at DU??

Increasingly, they are saying that let's go ahead and confirm Roberts in the fast lane and get back to sniping at KKKarl Rove. Unbelievable. They actually think that they will get anywhere with this dead horse Rove story. I vote to agree with them and confirm Roberts and get back to KKKarl! Go dems! You've got them by the balls this time! (snicker)

They are calling the KKKarl Rove scandal 'treasongate'. Then they hope the ACLU will bombard the media with fresh Abu Ghraib pictures.

What now, plaid boxer shorts on their heads? Couscous served at less than optimal temperature? A poor wine list? No quran racks in the shower? Maybe a lack of cable TV?

Oh yeah dems, YOU'VE GOT BUSH ON THE ROPES NOW. (snicker)

I think Bush has won back a lot of his traditional base with this nomination imho.

True, Borg. I'm still in shock that he didn't pick a woman.

>>The real question is: What are they saying over at DU??

One DUer wrote: "The country you knew is gone. What are you going to do about it."

And the next replied: "PM me...I have a question."

When I read that I couldn't handle anymore. That is one foul website.

From what I have seen of the guy, he looks like a solid pick.

Yes m'am, it's encouraging. It'll be very interesting to see how the usual Dim suspects react over the next few days. I'm hoping we see them screaming bloody murder...then we'll know we've got our man. Well done, Mr. President.

-to keep a beseiged widow from being completely stipped of her ability-

That's good ,....right?

the nominee seemed to really relish defending The TRPA (Tahoe Regional Planning Authority) before the Supreme Court to keep a besieged widow from being completely stripped of her ability from even bringing a case into court to seek the ability to even build on her own property!!! (TRPA vs Suitum, I believe)

it sounds like he was against the besieged widow. if so, not good.

Mark Levin, author of "Men in Black," a new conservative critique of the Supreme Court, sees no conflict and is a fan of Roberts. "In the short period he has been on the court, John Roberts has shown he does not bring a personal agenda to his work. He follows the Constitution, and he is excellent."

I'm liking his supporters. Lookin' good. Time to dig deep just to make sure.

You don't really think he read FR today and changed his mind today because of your griping, do you??

To answer your question, YES, I do think he changed his mind and took Gonzales off the short list because enough conservative groups and individuals sent the message that he was unacceptable.

There's zero chance he is a Souter.

why? what is there in his record that leads you to believe this?

There's an outside chance he could become a Kennedy ... same is true of almost any nominee.

see question above

My take is that he's not quite a Scalia, most likely a Rehnquist ... and that's not half bad.

a) see question above again. b) why are conservatives always willing to settle for less than they should & liberals never willing to compromise on anything?

He will. Janice Rogers Brown will be next. Right out of the D.C. Circuit just like Roberts.
