President Bush has chosen federal appeals court judge John G. Roberts Jr. as his nominee to the Supreme Court, a senior administration official says...
Good Bush finally did something good in his 2nd term
Babara Boxer, Hillary, Teddy are all practing their speeches... we will here extremist about a thousand times
Those clowns are a great source of entertainment.
"So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice."
"This cannot fly. I am so freaking angry. That sorry MFer * is giving the finger to all of us. Oooh I hate him."
Hilarious!! Why on earth would these weasels imagine that President Bush should nominate anyone who would be acceptable to the lunatic asylum at DU???
Put down the bong and back away from the keyboard.
"I think he was quoted by the NY Times: "If you don't own a gun, you should be shot." Sounds good to me. I really don't know but he sounds pretty darn could so far. I trust Dubya."
If this is true, wow!
Most real republicans trust Dubya. The Rino Phonies, the real conservatives in their small minds hate him more than they hate Ted Kennedy.
You feint in one direction and then hit them in the other!
It's difficult to imagine how the DUmbasses will have enough hate to go around....Bush, Rice, Rummy, Rove, and now.......Roberts! Bravo, W!! Well done!
Because it's more manly for them to come forward and admit their error rather than to call them out personally.
I agree with you. And, I think there is nothing wrong with him "hanging in there" for that distinction...he's earned it IMO, although I doubt that is a major concern on his part. I think his main concerns have been, and are, for the best interests of the country and the court itself, and his hanging in there can only help the process in our favor.
That's just priceless! My how I love it when the DUmmies freak out.
Just a thousand? Don't forget "out of the mainstream".
This will surely make the DUmmies heads explode

Since the Washington Post wrote about Bush's women and abortion today, how about Judge Roberts's? John Roberts's wife, Jane, has served as executive vice president of Feminists for Life (one of my favorite groups).

"And, then how do they complain?"
The same way they always do- by counting on the American public's fatally short attention span.
WHATever. . .kudos to GW for knocking some socks off tonight.
I love it!
for my part, assuming the upset nature being telegraphed of the CNN talking heads and reporters, it is a good choice.
Folks this is why we voted the man in office TWICE.
In fact we need to get the Media to remind people the MAJORITY of Americans voted GWBush to make this decision.
The questions forthcomming from the democrats are going to be so loaded.
They will ask questions they KNOW he can not aswer as a nominee just to go into hysterics.
I wonder if Reid is going to BEG OConnor to stay.
Just posted on DU.....
"A payoff for Florida. He worked on the stealing of Bush's first election in FL in 2000, so this must have been in the works since then. Plus, if Bush nominated him that's enough for me to know he will help secure the Bush dictatorship."
Life is really good right now!
President Bush went to Denmark on July 5 with 11 names of top candidates under consideration. In the last few days, he interviewed five -- one on Thursday, two on Friday -- including Judge Roberts, who got a presidential tour of the residence, including the Lincoln Bedroom, during his one-hour visit -- and two on Saturday.
Bush made his decision last night, finalizing it this morning. During lunch with Australian Prime Minister John Howard, Bush stepped out the room and called Roberts. When he returned, he said to the group, which included the leaders' wives: "I just offered the job to a great, smart 50-year-old old lawyer who has agreed to serve on the bench."
And despite the intense scrutiny at the White House, Judge Roberts and his wife came to the presidential residence for dinner tonight. At 7:30 tonight, Bush began notifying congressional leaders.
